You Ain't Nothing But a Hound Dog - the Dog Thread

watched a documentary on these two last night - pretty amazing

The below video is from 2012 - so 8 years ago. The two are now full grown & the relationship they share is pretty amazing. The cheetah - if it wanted to - could easily take this dog out.

It is and meant to be. It’s a Prong collar, sometimes needed for aggressive animals. I would never use it and think if you cannot physically handle the animal then you should not have the animal

All this information is very important to know and share but I was wishing this post was going to be News of a new Pup.

I understand, I am not there yet either and may never be there again.
Sad.

No idea what the experts agree or disagree on, but my favorite "adopted next door neighbor dog", a Malumute that HATED the water, uncharacteristically waded out to where I was fishing to say "Hi" and be petted the day before she passed, and NOT crossing the "Rainbow Bridge", that's for the Norse Gods of Valhalla.

This dog abhorred the water, she would never get her feet wet when I'd wade in. It did strike me as unusual, but I'd swear she knew her time was at hand...

I truly believe Max knew his time had come.

His Veterinarian offered to come to my house to euthanize him. Max liked the vet & always recognized him when he saw him. Either in his office or out & about. And greeted him with vigorous tail wagging. He however was not use to seeing him in my home.

When the doctor showed up at my door - it was a much more sedate Max who greeted him. Little or no tail wagging.

The deed was carried out on my kitchen floor. I placed Max's car blanket on the floor, sat down & gestured to Max to lay down, Which he obediently did putting his head on my lap. That was not a normal thing for him to do (eyes tearing up as I type this). He generally resisted following most instructions first time it was requested & it usually took some cajoling. I simply sat down & tapped the floor in from of me & he complied.

He kept his eyes locked with mine the whole time. No reaction when the needle went in.

And that was how he died. With his head in my lap. Eyes looking at me.

Same... twice in one year.
