Headed out with Frank Sr, our plan was see if we can find seabass anywhere. After meeting up the morning we agreed we had about a hour left of outgoing and had live spots so we made our way out. We arrived at the OB buoy had one guy trolling and two boats anchored. Found some fish on the screen and in went the spots. My pole doubled over and I was on. After a little battle a big healthy easy 40” fish boat side. No photos reached over and popped the hook for a fast release. No sooner after tide ended and they got lockjaw. Time to move on headed to a reef on the Connecticut side and sent the rods down with clams and squid absolutely not a bite. Moved to deeper water and 65 ft and Frank hooks up and then I hooked up. Nice fish wrong species we are catching blackfish on squid after boated six and releasing them all moved on back to the NY side. Another known spot for porgies and seabass again not a single bite. We moved into the bay boated 14 short fluke and called it a day.
