I have been blessed this winter doing a lot of freshwater Fishing. I had numerous fish in the 5-6 pound class this week with this beauty being the largest. 8 1/2 ponds!

That is one fantastic fish!! Real healthy looking. My inlaws have their place down there but I will not be visiting for a while. But when I do, I will reach out to you! :)

You have a stalker! Question at hand. What was the hot lure? Was it a plug?
Or my favorite the spinnerbait. Double blade, willow, colorado, chartreuse
skirt. Maybe salt and pepper.

What have you been using to catch down there?
So I'm no bass fishing expert but I do feel like I'm getting dialed in. I use an 8" Zoom Pumpkin Seed Lizzard rigged Texas-style. They are bass candy right now. I'll throw a topwater bait in some areas with success, but they are smaller fish. Right now I'm looking for the pre-spawners coming up into the shallows.

I'm putting my .2c out there. Early morning fishing tight to the bank.
I remember watching them roll while feeding on frogs. It works. MAYBE!

Wow, congrats! That looks like an Okeechobee bass I used to see 30 years ago on the fishing shows.

I managed to find a place on a huge lake system that used to be a lime quarry. In fact it's named The Quarry. It's 3 separate lakes with one being huge. I have a Tracker boat in a slip in my yard and I'll run out a few times a day. I won't be going out today as it's blowing 30k and the lake has whitecaps. The beauty is that it's a private lake catch and release only and 99% of the people here golf. It's all mine!!!

It is fun fishing new places but the wildlife here is unreal. Allegators take your fish sometimes, there are otters that do the same thing. They look cute but they are mean bastards. I thought it was a seal at first. Then there's occasional Panther, Bear, HUGE bobcats, eagles and ospreys, ohh then there are those scary water moccasins.

I was fishing under a bridge for a few days and picking some fish when as the sunset I heard a strange noise coming from the top of the bridge. What I didn't know was it turned into a bat cave at night!
