The study, led by Tal Patalon and Sivan Gazit at KSM, the system’s research and innovation arm, found in two analyses that people who were vaccinated in January and February were, in June, July, and the first half of August, six to 13 times more likely to get infected than unvaccinated people who were previously infected with the coronavirus. In one analysis, comparing more than 32,000 people in the health system, the risk of developing symptomatic COVID-19 was 27 times higher among the vaccinated, and the risk of hospitalization eight times higher."

The research impresses Nussenzweig and other scientists who have reviewed a preprint of the results, posted yesterday on medRxiv. “It’s a textbook example of how natural immunity is really better than vaccination,” says Charlotte Thålin, a physician and immunology researcher at Danderyd Hospital and the Karolinska Institute who studies the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 . “To my knowledge, it’s the first time [this] has really been shown in the context of COVID-19.”

NoT really Tony.....the idea is to MINIMIZE the risk.....obviously you cannot eat with a mask....but the kids are eating at desks now and not tables and are separated IN THE CAFETERIA at my district......so in cases where wearing a mask is not possible they are taken off and you do take a risk...but there is no other way


so you see the whole idea is to minimize the risk via masks..vaccines...distancing...testing...isolation....not to guarantee you won't get it...just to reduce the chance and to lower the effect via vaccine...even you can see this NO?

That was last year in my district. This year, the kids are back in the lunchroom. No plexiglass dividers at the desks either. But the lunch room I believe has plexiglass dividers at the tables.

PS kids have been playing soccer all spring, 15K kids in the LI league. No covid among any the whole season.
Been at training camp with my daughter Tuesday and Thursday all summer. 50 kids in training at a time. No masks, close contact, no Covid.

CDC has info on breakthough infections, but only if it requires hospitalization. And they moved the goal posts on how it is reported, as well as PCR testing for vaxxed and unvaxxed.
But let me ask you a Q.....Does Delta discriminate between continents? Across Oceans? If it does, perhaps it should be called a different variant? AFAIK, Delta is Delta, Alpha is Alpha, and soon we might even have Epsilon, or Lambda and eventually maybe Tau and Zeta or Theta.

If mask worked at all they would only work if on everyone in any given area at all times

if masks were truly relevant I’d have had covid
Delta covid and possible made up my own variant
And there are at least 100 ppl in my immediate circle in that same category

mask are 100 percent useless
