Just a point of definition. A "Blizzard" does NOT have a minimum snow fall requirement, it's mostly for strong sustained winds during a snowstorm.

Here's the "official NOAA" definition:

A blizzard means that the following conditions are expected to prevail for a period of 3 hours or longer:
  • Sustained wind or frequent gusts to 35 miles an hour or greater; and
  • Considerable falling and/or blowing snow (i.e., reducing visibility frequently to less than 1/4 mile)
 
Can someone tell me what is the difference between your every day run of the mill Blizzard Warning & an Extreme Blizzard Warning?

My bad. In my flimsy defense, there's a BS Blizzard raging here and didn't quite catch it, probably because I trust your posts and usually blow past them to find the inane ones... ;);););)
 
I just peruse this thread for the occasional yucks and, of course, the onancock chronicles and ag3. My pc has at least 6 different weather sites and my phone has the weather channel, AccuWeather, the Windy app and predict wind.com along with apps for the moon and tides. As you were.

You need to get news12 app!! They are the best (sarc/) ...they make snow angels and ride around in the "thunderbolt" lol
