Nobody told you about you have to live in AC the rest of your life?? 16 yrs is not too old for a unit...have them check it first. Unless its the compressor shot...fix it. Could be low refrigerant....fan in condenser not working....dirty evap or condenser coils.....or electrical like a contactor or capacitor

After 27 years of AM showers, upon retirement the daily showed schedule became "fluid". Days with no physical activity like yard work, fishing, clamming, etc. AM shower, otherwise shower after work completed...

MTB we did,,, compressor bad, years ago we replaced the compressor, not doing it again there not cheap,,, also coils rusting out,, so be it,,,, we will have a new unit today,,,,,,,,,,the guy said its like 20years anyway,,,,, also maureen hates it being cold in our home,,, i told her wait till it his 94+ down here,,, ,,, i do like the heat and the cold,,,thanks for the input MTB,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ><)))):>
