my daughter took taekwondo for a couple of years - made it to a brown belt & then quit - after she had gotten her brown belt I asked her to show me what she had learned (she was about 15 at the time & weighed all of 90 pounds soaking wet)

"Come on dad . I don't want to hurt you."

I figured that was just bravado.
"Oh yeah. Well let's see if you can actually take me down,"
"OK dad - but I warned you. Come at me like you're going to grab me."

So I did.

It took me a few minutes to gather myself together & pick myself up from the floor where she had thrown me onto my back after she removed her foot which was pressing against my throat.

Last time I tried that..............

I had a similar situation. About 10 years ago a bunch of my sons friends and their friends where wrestling on my front lawn. I’m no wrestler, and watched as every kid ( approximately ( 13 yrs old) lost the match to one 250 lb 13 year old. I said let me try, well in about 5-10 seconds he picked me up and squeezed me like a sponge and broke 3 of my ribs. I won’t try that again, I go for the kill.
