But yes, we all understand why these people want to come here. Every victim of Socialist/Communist/Leftist government would love to come here. Although our current crop of government seems bent on changing that. And yes, most of the population understands the difference between migrant workers, asylum seekers, etc. Heck, I had a Bangladeshi/Muslim diversity visa immigrant working for me for two years.

He was a bright and hard-working young man. His wife finally got a visa too and he finished his education and moved on. He was ambitious and will be a great asset to this country. I wish him the best life.

But the hard reality is that we can't support the entirety of the planet that has been victimized by leftism. Lines have to be drawn somewhere for our survival, and to maintain opportunities. But there are a lot of people on the left that can't conceptualize that any more than they can understand that we can't transition to an all renewable/electric infrastructure in ten years because they just know it's the right thing to do.

Too bad that when we try to spread free-market capitalism so they can have the kind of life we live we're condemned as imperialists.

we are not talking about every victim of socialist/communist leftist governments , we are talking about our neighbors to the South whose governments have been manipulated by hard right US politics for 2 hundred years, and who had their countries turned into killing zones by the insatiable demand for drugs from us hard working Americans...we did not spread anything buT shit in South America. How about the treaty of Guadulupe WHERE WE FUKKED Mexico. By its terms, Mexico ceded 55 percent of its territory, including the present-day states California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, most of Arizona and Colorado, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming. Mexico also relinquished all claims to Texas, and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary with the United States.

Doesnt make me feel better. What would make me feel better is if every soldier who fought in a war didnt have a mortgage to pay. What would make me feel better is if every senior citizen didnt have to choose between their prescription drugs or dinner.

Take care of your own before playing Santa Clause with the rest of the world!!!

The new head of the British Army warned soldiers that they must prepare “to fight in Europe once again,” comments that take new meaning as Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to rage on.

General Sir Patrick Sanders, who started in the top position on Monday, addressed troops and civil servants for the first time in an internal message on Thursday.

In the rallying cry, published by BBC News, the commander said: “Russia's invasion of Ukraine underlines our core purpose to protect the UK by being ready to fight and win wars on land. There is now a burning imperative to forge an army capable of fighting alongside our allies and defeating Russia in battle.”

He added, “We are the generation that must prepare the Army to fight in Europe once again.”

Sanders noted in his message that he is the first chief of the general staff since 1941 to “take command of the Army in the shadow of a land war in Europe involving a major continental power."

He set goals, including mobilizing and modernizing the army in a bid to boost NATO’s defense and to “deny Russia the chance to occupy any more of Europe.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Friday — his second surprise visit since Russia's invasion began on Feb. 24. “It was incredibly moving to walk the streets of Kyiv with you once more, to pay tribute to your fallen soldiers whose sacrifice, unconquerable courage and bravery we will never forget,” Johnson said.

it's called ST. Patricks day...and they weren't treated worse than slaves.....ironically many slavemasters and presidents are of Irish descent......but they were protestant Irish who were planted in Ireland by Britain after the land was cleared of Natives...

I'm not included in that because I don't blame immigrants because of any low position in life or my life sucks. Immigrants come here from Asia/India/ and in one generation their kids are at the top

South americans too....took over all the hospitality businesses, trades, etc.

it's the way it is...this country runs on new blood infusion
