Unfortunately I no longer have itDo you still have it ?? those were the days we could have so much fun with a simple 16 Footer without electronics.![]()
"Unfortunately I no longer have it
Sold it long ago for way too cheap
With all its issues, I loved it
Anytime I made it back to the ramp without grease on my hands, was a good day
What I miss most about it is that my Dad was right alongside me every step of the way doing all of the work together on her including the full rebuild of the motor![]()

Since this thread has now wandered down the old "memory lane path" I did a little searching for some old photos of my first boat, aptly called the "Sea Witch" for all you Humphrey Bogart fans out there.Unfortunately I no longer have it

The first shot is yours truly when I was 50 years younger and 50# lighter! Basically, you can see me sitting at the midship helm seat showing both a fore and aft view.
Unfortunately, I could not find a full length shot of my StarCraft, so I just located a stock photo of someone else's same generation boat up for sale. Essentially it is the same hull as mine was except I did not have the pedestal mounted seats or the trolling motor.
What I did have was a very cool fold-down "Spray Dodger" I had mounted on the bow cap that extended aft until about a foot in front of the helm. Not only did it keep me dry on those choppy days but it also created a small, covered sleeping area in the bow. I can fondly recall may trips where I wanted to get a super early start so I would unroll my sleeping bag and sack out under the "Dodger" the night before!
