Landscaping

Planted herbs last night in my half barrel. My son was bugging me to plant so he dug all the holes and I put the plants in. Figured how dirty could he get? Don’t ask lol.

We planted (2) basil plants, (1) rosemary, (1) oregano, and (1) flat leaf parsley.

I might go pick up the tomato plants today or tomorrow. Weather looks like it will start getting warmer and I’d like to get them in the ground prior to Mother’s Day.

Where are you going to get the tomato plants?
Not sure yet. Lowe’s, HD, and all of my local supermarkets have them. I usually get some from a local nursery but they only have large tomato breeds - beefsteaks, etc. I’m not planting those this year.

try your local Garden Center - they should have what you're looking for & better tended then HD/Lowes - if B&G (I think that's what it was called) in St. James is still in operation (25A) I would suggest there. You're in or near St. James right Koz?

Picked up a raspberry bush, another tickseed, and some coneflowers. All of this is going on my hill. It’s a work in progress.

BB & GG are still there. They don't sell young vegetable plants. They specialize in shrubs and trees of all sizes. I bought many an azalea there over the years. They also grow some of the best produce around. Some of the best sweet corn I've ever had.

I will take a swing by, maybe they now do.

Koz try Mazelis garden center on 25a just east of the train overpass thingy

Never even thought of them. ( @self)

They used to be right next where I work, and I used them to plant a bunch of green giant arborvitaes a few years ago. Right at the time they moved into the new store on 25A. Last time I was in the store it was under HEAVY construction. I talked to the owner at length about the move, and the work at my house. He told me all about his plans for the storefront. Real nice guy who works his tail off.

The new store is a long par four from my house, and yet I never even thought about it.

I'll stop by on my way home today! If he does not have veggies I'm going down Edgewood for some annuals.

last time I was in there (5 + years ago) I'm pretty sure I saw vegetables...................

Maybe wrong - I'm old.

But most Garden Centers carry what you're looking for.

No, they haven't had them in years. They shine with perennials, hanging baskets, (best designs in the area) and grapes for wine. I hear the wine is very good, but I don't touch the stuff.

They had them! Just got a delivery so I was the first customer to parooze the offerings. I purchased some tomatoes and peppers

I ran into Steve and we chatted for a few minutes. Still a really good guy who works his tail off. As we were talking for ten minutes or so, he dealt with five issues simultaneously without losing his place in our conversation.

Just ripped about half of this ornamental grass that I can’t stand. Going to do the rest over the next few days. Some workout pulling this stuff out. The old owner planted it about 20 years ago. I filled up 2 black garbage bags
