Made it out in North Jersey today to start Tog season 2019. Good action on dinner plate porgies, 1 stud of a trigger, and multitudes of tog. Was a great day on the water, fished 35 fow using my own jigs ranging from 3/4 to 1-1/2 oz. Biggest fish went 23" and 8#, my new PB. Can't wait to find a bigger one! :)

Nice fish.

NY Bight Tog opens today (LI Sound opened last week). Here in NJ (where many NY boats started togging today) we can only keep one until 16-Nov, then it expands to 5. Yesterday my Brian caught the biggest Tog I have ever seen in person ... and he released it safely (y) WE didn't get a measurement because we wanted to get her back safely and quickly. It dwarfed the DDs we have previously caught and are happy that she'll live long and multiply. The bite was drop and reel, tog were suicidal! I was beyond

thrilled getting them on crab/jig/spinner, but Brian caught the Hog on a Clam and never even switched to crabs all day. Hope it continues.
