Got to look at this from a scientific perspective. He did acknowledge the "good" effects seen in a very limited, marginally controlled study. Based on that, he said we should conduct more complete studies to verify this observation and determine critical dose thresholds, etc. What many folks like to dismiss is that fact that hydrochloroquine (might want to note that spelling) has some nasty cardiac side effects, so dosage studies are pretty important.

That's what is appropriate, getting scientifically medical advice from MDs and/or PhDs in life sciences, unless you prefer medical advice from someone with a BS in Economics and his accomplice with a PhD in Economics who seem to be working from "hunches".

This is definitely extreme, but look what’s going on over here in Brooklyn with weddings and funerals. Of course if any laws are enforced it’s considered racist since it has to do with religious beliefs. How about common sense and sacrifice for the greater good? Something needs to be done.

True. But because of the test they were willing to tell us that a large feline was able to contract it. If that's possible it might also be possible for small felines to contract it. So it's something we will need to keep an eye on. Because if that turns out to be the case we're all going to have to quarantine our house cats and start shooting strays.

Viruses mutate. Like everything else it's how they survive. It's how "ordinary" Corona became COVID-19. It could mutate into something our pets can carry. I'm sure @Roccus7 will tell me better, but I think that's also the reason it's hard to come up with a vaccine or treatment is because it's a moving target going in a random direction.

Not going to tell you anything because you're correct. Everything mutates at a given rate. If the mutation is productive and ensures survival of the species, e.g. if a mutation that changes the spike protein in COVID-19 enough that the antibodies a vaccine helps produce are defeated, then this mutation will continue in future. Let's just hope there is a stable antibody target on COVID that doesn't mutate often...

And in case you hadn't heard this, many distinguished members, including Nobel Laureates, of the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center called Dr. Oz out a year or two ago for being a charlatan, trying to gain TV viewers at the expense of science. I can't even listen to his drivel, another one that endangers my TV because I throw things at him when he's on...

And then there's Dr. Phil, another Oprah favorite...
