Great day on the flats: necks, cherrystones & mongo chowdahs, beautiful selection of oysters, and a bunch of razor clams for bait.

Started a new "sport", sight clamming. Last month with Mud I noticed that the biggest clams were often "peeking out of the mud". Today I spent some time just looking into the crystal clear water. I got the monster below doing this, although my footprints muddied the water in the picture. Look at the circle...

LOL, mud here is very dark, but after a day or two in the fridge, they get that nice battleship gray color. If you look carefully at the bottom picture in thee post you'll see some light color in the clam on the end facing the rake. Guess the clam was getting a tan. That's where it was sticking above the mud.

Actually I wish you were right. One of my goals yesterday was to find some surf clams, AKA skimmer or hen clams, for bait. Two tides ago I actually dug one up there and yesterday I decided to give a nearby flat a shot, but it was full of razor clams.

that clam looks bigger than this bike seat, 14” wide... cellfish...

Just finished working in the yard got off the phone with my buddy setting up tomorrow’s ride after I run to the nursery to check out plants for a buddy
