the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

Stop stalking them :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I need to make arrangements you see..........................

They mentioned they might stop here on the way home.
Capt13 & Mrs. 13 are coming by on Wednesday
I'm headed to NJ than NY on Thursday.

Just trying to get the lay of the land so to speak............

Not this time , as soon as we wake up nonstop till we get home. 9.5 hours from here wherever here is

southern North Carolina judging by the time you just gave me....

It's 6 hours from here to Smithtown - so add 3.5 hours to that and......................
You're not staying at South of the Border are you?

Ohhhh NOOOOOO WAY ?

We are in Salisbury

well - believe I'm headed to the Vet in the morning...................

Max has been acting very strange the last day or two - pretty much sleeps all day & his hindquarters are very weak. Especially the leg that had the ACL surgery. I can knock him over with a gentle push or pressure to his rear.

Having trouble (at least I assume it's trouble & not just laziness) lifting his leg to pee. Just squatting like a female.
Very "stiff legged" in his rear legs & one front paw where there was some arthritis.
Noticed him standing staring at the wall for quite awhile - one front paw raised. The one with the arthritis. Like he was set to charge something he saw in the backyard.

Every now & then yelp for no reason I can discern.
He doesn't appear to be in any pain. I can touch him all over & he doesn't react.
Eating well.

Just looking real real old. Like he doesn't know what's going on. Face going grey fairly rapidly over the last month or so.
Having trouble getting up the stairs. Sometimes trouble getting down them. Fell once & another time I was coming down with him & he seemed to be picking up speed & was about to fall - instead he lept down the last 4 or 5 steps. While impressive it wasn't intentional. More of a bid to stop from tumbling.

He's 12.5 years old - going to be 13 in June.
Average lifespan for Springers is 15 - so he's close.

so..............

We'll see what we'll see.

Did you take him to the vet, or is he better this morning?

just got back..........................

He's pretty much got that same stuff going on with his back as I do - throw in the fact we're both deaf and............

A form of Spondylitis which from what I gather is related to arthritis. It's affecting his whole back - from neck to tail. In mild pain from it though he doesn't show it. According to the vet that is what is causing all of the symptoms I described in a previous post.

His discs are messed up in layman's terms.

Doc prescribed two medications to start:
Rimadyl (for pain & inflammation)
Tramadol (for arthritic pain) I'm on this for my back should I need it.

Wants to see if this helps him before doing X-Rays (costly).

so..................................

Let's see how this goes.

Thanks. I as well.

right now he's found the only spot of sunshine in the backyard - he's been laying in it now for about an hour....

watching a flight/squadron/fleet whatever it's called (help me here Crabby - you're ex-Navy) of Navy Choppers pass over heading toward Norfolk I assume...........

Those choppers are big. 6 of 'em flying in formation about 300 - 400 feet overhead. VERY LOUD!!!

Heard them coming long before I could see them.....
