good stuff on netflix

started watching this on netflix last night.,..it's pretty interesting and balanced...form your own opinion...I like to know a subject well before forming an opinion...party has little to do with it.....this confirms most of what I knew and added a few things.....it is not a bash piece...it is pro and con trump

Schitts Creek - Season 3 - Episode 7

Mega rich billionaire loses all of his money except for a small town he bought as a joke & is now forced to live there. Very subtle humor but once you tune into it it's hysterical.

 
Getting sour on NF. One of my "MOs" is to set the sleep timer on the TV, turn on Netflix and turn on a PBS documentary that I enjoyed when first viewing, but now put me immediately to sleep. My 2 favorites, Ken Burns: The Civil War and Civilizations are going away this month. What's an insomniac to do??? I do have Civil War on the DVR, but erased my Civilizations...
 
The Stranger - starts off looking like a simple one off extortion film & within two episodes explodes into a myriad of plots, multiple extortions & rockets off from there.

5 episodes in & I'm hooked.

 
finished up the The Stranger (excellent) now on to Season 3 of Babylon-Berlin

Sort of a German Film Noir
Seasons 1 & 2 pre WW2/pre Great Depression
Season 3 - Depression seems to be in full mode & there are Nazis beginning to show up. In German - but dubbed - just don't look at the lips..................

Great Sets & Production right down to the little details...

Hinterland
3 Seasons - I'm presently into Season 2 - Episode 4

A noir crime drama set in Aberystwyth, Wales, where troubled DCI Tom Mathias solves murders while searching for redemption. That sorta describes it but doesn't give you the full overview so to speak.

Enjoying it.
Good Story Lines.
Great acting by Tom Mathais who portrays a tortured soul facing his own personal problems while having to do his job.
Terrific location filming. The grey country side of Wales makes a perfect backdrop for noir film making.

Those with issues following actors speaking with British accents may have a problem here. As this was filmed in & concerns people of Wales - you get the occasional sometime difficult to understand Welch accents. Some Irish thrown in for good luck as well. I'm pretty much able to follow the Welch characters from having lived in the UK for a year & worked with a Plant Manager who was Welsh.

Dealin' with the Brit for the last 4 years is something of a help as well.
