Over the last few years I have seeing a big increase in pontoon boats, anyone else notice that it is difficult to tell the difference when underway between the bow and the stern of these boats? It has happened to me twice recently when I thought I was following a pontoon boat in actuality it...
The creek runs parallel to the loop parkway on the west side from I believe the Fundy bridge (that brings you to Merrick Bay) to Reynolds Channel. It is real bad just south of the draw bridge toward Reynolds. I thought they dredged that area a few years ago and made it worse with that shoal.
Great news if you use Jones inlet, it's needed very badly. Stay in the channel at low tide.

Boat explosion in Greenport, I'm glad the two are not injured severely. Everyone be careful, don't rush and write down steps for your start up procedures. I assume the Capt did not turn on the blower to vent then bilge of fumes after gassing up or he did what I almost did when I got...
Another spot gone for surf fishing. Hopefully only temporarily. Now we need a big storm to hit and wipe out the beach and then they will want Federal money to restore it. I'm only kidding about wiping out the beach but it is another case of not in my backyard...
Went out Sunday 6/6/21 from 10:30 to 3 and fished some of the local reefs. Very quiet with boat traffic on the reefs. No fluke we did catch dog fish, skate, sea robins, sand sharks and several nice size sea bass, THAT WERE ALL SAFELY RELEASED. Here is a picture of one of the bass before it...
Took my brother to Reynolds Channel today 5/22/21 fishing the outgoing for 3 hours. I didn't like the 3 to 5 foot waves predicted in the ocean. Couldn't find a fluke. Party boats didn't look like they were doing any better. Switched to diamond jigs and had fun with the Blues for 2 hours...
My new one from last year, it sat for 2 years before I brought her so she needed lots of work before taking her out. I did several shake down runs last year and I still need to replace the water jacket gasket in one of the engines, repair a trim leak in one of the engines and repair a power...
So I have a 26 foot boat with twin outboards. The transducer is mounted about 5 feet behind the outboards on the bottom of the hull between the trim tabs. Its a v style hull and then the hull goes up a few inches 5 feet before the outboards (If that makes sense). When I get the boat on plane...
my 2 cents- I love kayak fishing, unfortunately, my back didn't. I would only last 3 hours in the kayak and be in pain for 2 days afterward and I tried both a paddle and peddle. I have also tried jetski fishing in Florida it was fun, however I felt more unsteady in the jetski then the kayak...
Glad my boat is 26 feet! I has one on my previous 23 foot boat and never used it as when I'm drifting in small channels and fishing I wanted my engine running.
well this was in Newsday. Hope the body turns up so the family can have closure. Sad

" Back up to them and cast from the cockpit"
Yea, I'm afraid to give my kid another hole for his ear or nose LOL. ;) I will try that when I'm alone or one other passenger in the boat. Thanks
So the last two weekends I have been attempting to snag bunker but my success rate has been poor. When I had my kayak I had great success where I could snag them almost every cast but on the boat My success rate is 1 to 25 casts. I'm guessing some of it is that I'm higher off the water...
