Spooled it up with 10lb braid & realized the level wind works as it should when retrieving line, but when letting line out the level wind stays in one...

    I guess it depends on how hard you work it. My Chevy 1500 has the 5.2 & tows my 21' boat with ease, a little over 7,000 pounds. Looking at the numbers of the 4 cylinder turbo that Chevy offers in the truck they are about the same as the 8 cylinder, but the 4 would be working to the max every tow.
