1996 Privateer Renegade I/O to Outboard Conversion

I know you did a thorough research on the zuke, and this question is probably better in it's own thread but why the zuke over a Honda, merc or yamaha?

I will probably repower next year. I was looking at etec's but that is no longer an option. Was looking at a 300 or 350.

Stopped in on the install ...... 40 something years of doing everything on my boats myself including rigging, made it hard to drop the boat off this morning at Sandpiper Marine. My friend Bob tried to as best he could to convince me it would be ok. We stopped in this afternoon ..... I was very impressed with the work and felt way better. It's looking good! They are going to take it for a ride tomorrow and make sure everything is good.

you're not the only one who stopped by Sandpiper to get a peek yesterday

Measured up for the new Ulterra with spot lock. Ordered a 72" with 112 pounds of thrust. Tape measure set to 6'.

Trim tabs mounted, next I have to locate where the piston support brackets go. Dash is looking good, things are coming together quickly now. Trying to decide where the solix (laying on dash) is going, either the dash or hanging from cabin top ? Taking a few days off to celebrate the privilege of living in a free country!

Looking good. FWIW, my opinion is to hang it from the cabin top; the dash is so beautifully uncluttered now.

Now that comment is null and void if you wouldn't have a clear view of it from the aft end of the cockpit while fishing. If anyone wants to get swatted with a rod on my boat, see what happens when you block my view of the sounder...

Spent a couple of hours working on the wiring. Had to disconnect and separate all the wiring the engine installers had wrapped up. My panel wasn't installed and everything was in the way. Wasn't too bad. loosened the hydraulic steering lines and moved them as well. Should have taken a before photo.

This afternoon I hooked up the Humminbird and watched the "Demo Mode". I'm thinking there is going to be a bit of a learning curve with this machine.

Last year I bought a Hook II 9" triple shot, I'm still learning, down and side scan detail is unbelievable.
Today I start installing my Furuno 1815 radar, this will be a big learning curve, but I'm confident I will be ok with it.
Love the detail in your cable management, after I wire up the radar I am going to enclose my wiring panel, right now it is exposed, I just never got around to building the enclosure.

There were four posts welded to the underside of the platform. They were threaded and the ladder bolted to them and slides in underneath. There is a spring-type lock that holds it in place after it slides in place.

Feel free to contact me about the Furuno 1815. I installed mine 2 years ago and I am still learning. Gonna have to compare notes.
OK, the radar came with a 10 m antenna cable 33 feet, twice as much as I need, I have been looking for a 5 m cable, they talk about it in the instruction book, but I can't seem to find anyone that has one, I was at defender marine in Waterford today, they can't seem to find it either, so it looks like excess cable will be coiled and put in a protective box.
I got the holes drilled in the mounting plate, I was supposed to get my new canvas top for my custom radar arch today, well that didn't arrive so I'm on hold till it does, in the meantime I'm rearranging my Chart plotter/fish finder to a new spot, easy peasy, have to see what tomorrow brings.
I would be happy to exchange notes, as I know only what i have read in the operators instruction manual, so your light years ahead of me.
