Ah spring has sprung, it's Invertebrate Humping Day up here!! While replacing snow plowing divots along the side of the driveway I disturbed a pair of earthworms doing the horizontal mambo, but couldn't dig the camera out fast enough. Little suckers shot back down their hole really fast. 1st time I've actually seen them "doing it".

Didn't take me long to disturb another couple in the heat of passion, a pair of beetles and my presence didn't seem to bother them as they kept at it so I snapped the picture below. Something must be in the air today...

On the avian side, no mating was observed, but heard and saw my first ospreys of 2024 today. Always nice to see them return
