My best friend did! It was baby blue, with Cragars and a cherry bomb muffler. It was as cool as as you could make a baby blue Pinto 🤣
while it was a death trap - it was VERY reliable - nothing could stop it - I lost the oil cap & drove around for 2 years with a rag plugging it up - got it up to over 100,000 miles without a tune up or seeing a mechanic - no oil changes - eventually handed it over to my brother who proceeded to total it 6 months later

No Pinto, but I did have to drive my grandparent's K car for a couple of weeks once. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It didn't help that my grandparents were as cheap as cat $#it and wouldn't even spring for FM.

I'll have to see if I still have the news clipping about a group that created a racing class for Pintos. They had gotten fed up with the cost of running more exotic cars when all they wanted to do was have some fun on the track. Pintos were the basis of the Mustang II so there were performance parts available for it and even though they took some ribbing it made racing more affordable and just as fun for them.

Let's also not forget that the Pinto engine was the basis for the Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.
