First, I'm not that kind of doctor, but I do know enough medical science to avoid considering "Yahoo News" as an authoritative source of medical information. If one reads the article you would find an article that outlines "what might be proved in the future" with little documented info of what HAS been proven. To get that sort of info, Hippocrates invented peer-reviewed journals like JAMA, Lancet, NEJM, etc., but there are those around here who prefer to post items with sensational headlines because they evoke a strong reaction.

You've heard this time and time again, and will continue to hear it for a long time, that we just don't know "nutta 'bout no Corona virus" yet. Medicine is on the logarithmic phase of the learning curve for this virus. IMO, the key paragraph in the Yahoo Voodoo is quoted below, highlighting the conundrum of patients with underlying conditions, kind of a medical what came first, the chicken or the egg, scenario.

As doctors try to assess organ damage after COVID-19 recovery, there’s a key complication: Patients with disorders that affect the heart, liver, blood and lungs face a higher risk of becoming very sick with COVID-19 in the first place. That makes it difficult to distinguish COVID-19 after-effects from the problems that made patients vulnerable to begin with — especially so early in the game.

Bottom line, the less healthy one goes into a bout with any devastating disease, the tougher the fight and recovery will be. This is not specific to COVID-19.

Apparently the virus is racist because it's disproportionately affecting blacks and Latinos. Couldn't be the lifestyle or ignoring the precautions could it? This is what happens when people have too much time on their hands. They spend it concocting nutty ideas.

I began noticing that the vast majority of "whities" were all wearing masks & other protective gear & keeping some distance between each other where as most people of the popular minority persuasions were taking no precautions (no masks, walking and hanging out in groups with no distancing). Only the older folk.

Odd because even before we were "encouraged" to wear masks it was the black women at my local ShopRite that wore them, virtually no one else. Maybe asthmatics, but just the opposite nonetheless...
Regardless, its the asshats hanging out in groups, all colors, all ages, that will perpetuate this thing and ruin many a summer, school year, vacation, etc.
