however - as most towns down here have Fire Departments with limited resources (we only have 2 trucks) & firetrucks are intergral part of any parade - they take turns covering for each other - I would guess that plays into it somewhere

also - REALLY BIG Irish town - the festivities in one way or another are only beginning & will continue through the week

Really don't care. I prefer more light later in the day so DST all year would get my vote, BUT the most critical thing that drives my days are the tides and you don't have to reset the tide clocks...

would also much prefer to have it be lighter at the end of the day and feel this way even after I retired. getting up before dawn is now even harder. and I still have to reset the vehicle clocks and wristwatch. not like this old brain remembers three different procedures.

I live by the tide as you know, But for whatever reason i like it light earlier although i always get up before dawn either way.

OMG !!, i never thought about that. I have 2 Microwaves W clocks, Cookstove W clock, Coffee maker W clock and a battery wall clock all in the kitchen. And I'm not into time, I'm scaring myself.
