Do they think we're idiots!

This document shows what the NJ coastline will look like.

Thanks George, even that industry can't work without fossil fuels. You know i was thinking the other day about the whales washing up like this (So frequently). The whalers are the ones that came up with the name "Right whale." The reason was that they are the only whales that float after killed. All the rest would go to the bottom (until they bloated) if no flotation was provided. Much like other Mammals. Then when they were tied to the side for stripping down the right whale would be easier because they didn't have to pump air into it to stay afloat thus it needed less lines and rigging. So they were the "Rite whale" to take when they had a choice.

So yeah, as Longcast posted that does happen. First they sink.

I always enjoy your words of wisdom.

Another dead whale reported to be floating off Delaware Bay. It won't be long before the photos are available. This one not coincidentally lines up directly with the surveying.

ATLANTIC OCEAN-WIND LEASE AREA OCS-A 0537
TerraSond will be conducting geophysical survey activities within the Bluepoint Wind Lease Area (OCS-A 0537), 38 nautical miles (nm) off the coast of New York and 53 off the coast of New Jersey, from March 1 through September 30, 2023, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Equipment on scene will be the GO Adventurer survey vessel, utilizing sidescan sonar (SSS), multibeam bathymetry echo sounder (MBES), cesium vapor magnetometer (MAG), parametric sub-bottom profiler (SBP) and ultrashort base line (USBL) acoustic transceiver. GO Adventure, will have restricted maneuverability during survey operations when towing equipment. Mariners, please transit the area with extreme caution and transit at slow speed to minimize wake when transiting the area. GO Adventure will be monitoring VHF-FM CH 16 for any concerned traffic.

How many whales, dolphins and turtles will die when this work is being done as they migrate to our shores? 7 days a week 24 hours a day for 7 months straight.

You know George that graphic you showed above could scare the hell out of even average navigators. I just think of all those thousands of foreign flagged ships making their turn at Ambrose and heading into Ny. & Nj. Many times I fish near (A mile or two) from our East inbound and outbound nd our South inbound and outbound. (Portland). I listen to the chatter on the radio and it scares me how many of those ships can't stay within those boundary's. Some can't even understand the pilot when they tell him to slow down for boarding.

It never ceases to amaze me how some educated people don't have the common scene to find the information from a reliable source. (Fishermen, Captains, USCG and others) No they are all not going to stay in the 2 nm. corridor. Or even 4 nm. .
Ship happens, and when it does the last thing you want to see as a captain is a bunch of immobile objects on your screen. Maneuverability is not always a given at any day or time.

Scary.
