Firewood

I think your kitchen table has a formica top - go with that. Maybe spread out a little aluminum foil first..........

looks nice Tony - whats under it? Is that tile, granite or marble?
That's a hearth pad that you can put right on a wood floor. I have heat shields on the bottom of the stove as well as the back plus the heat deflector behind the stove. That heat deflector is great and one of the best stove accessories I've bought it keeps the wall behind it from getting too warm and it directs the heat outward.

I'll be installing the garage stove with a thru the wall system :

Make sure they put an access cap at the bottom of the outside chimney for easy cleaning.

really? Looks like some form of ceramic or stone. It's a nice one. They had similar ones when I went to check out buying the stove - but they looked inferior to what you're using - they also wanted a lot for them - couple of hundred as I recall. Figured I could make something using masonry for just a little more & that's the way I went.

Went to the local masonry yard (T&W - I'm sure you've heard of them) & asked for any left over stone or brick that they may have had from another job. As I recall - I got the brick & flagstones for like $200. The stone behind the stove on the wall - is what they cal "stacked stone". It's stone cut down & on a web similar to tile - but thicker than tile. Got that for the Tile Guys in Exmore on 13. Sure you've seen them.

As I recall that was like another $300.
The rest is quick set, 3/4 " plywood & 1/4" concrete backer board.

Its nice out Jack open the windows :eek:

Yes, actually neighbors in back of me just had to do that, they had a blowback from furnace and had the Holbrook Fire Dept. at their Home.

We thought it was a full blown Fire Emergency. Three Trucks and a Rescue Unit. I walked around the corner To make sure all good with them.
