The finish has a lot to do with visibility as well. A good shine is hard to beat almost regardless of color.

Very true that is why I intend to put some more reflective tape around the kayak>I have it on my Flag pole but I will put more around in different areas on the kayak.I am sure it will make the kayak more visible at night and especially during the day with the sun hitting it and the motion of the waves moving it in every direction it is sure to catch the eye of all craft.

Here's hoping that the shiny luster my first Hurricane kayak had (and has even as I sold it) will be the same on my new one.
