New Braid to Mono leader Knot - the SC - Looks EASY!

I've used this and I found on Saturday I was bumping guides a lot. So much that I cut back on the length of my leader. I guess this winter would be a good time to practice different knots.
Although I just went back in this thread and realized I said the same thing last year... And I didn't practice lol. I'll get it right now. Then come season I'll totally forget.

I'm sticking with the double uni. It has never failed me yet! Although I probably just jinxed myself. Yea it's a bit bumpy but it's a great quick tie knot.

Personally, if I want a quick leader-joining knot, I go with the Alberto. Very strong. A buddy told me that he uses a 5-turn Surgeon's knot and its never let him down. He uses it even with 6' "shock" leaders. Frankly, I never even thought of that, even though we used that knot for years for short leaders (like 14") when bucktailing bass at night, under the bridges. Never had one fail, come to think of it. And its probably the easiest knot on earth to tie for this purpose.

I was just talking to a Slomins alarm rep here at the house. In our conversations he revealed that he does a ton of surfcasting and told me that he's knocked the ceramic rings right out of two of his surf rod guides with that Double-Uni.

I showed him how to tie both the FG and the PR Bobbin, and directed him to the proper AliExpress store to buy a bobbin like mine. He in turn then replaced a bunch of sensors and other older parts of my alarm system - at no cost. Really went thru the house and gave it a thorough upgrade.

See? It pays to know fishin' stuff! :p
