The pace , the congestion and the need to shave a second at every turn
It’s the fact they at any second on any given street it’s gridlock
That loading goods into a shop and shopping ( parking) near that shop are mutually exclusive

take those very same ppl and put them in another area ( like Florida) I’m very different conditions
Walla you get very very different ppl

an aside:
I drove TDY in So Cal 12 or 15 years ago and again on a vacation in 2015, staying at the same Residence Inn near Anaheim and driving from the Reagan Library down to San Diego and many points in between. Rush hours, weeknights, weekends, etc. Kali drivers are the worst right ? Wrong!
I noticed quickly that stop signs actually meant stop. Trying to get the other driver to come through after his or her full stop was like trying to convince them to give up their In N Out! Changing lanes on a freeway ? Everybody signaled. Everybody. Not only that, with that signal on, people in the next lane over actually SLOWED DOWN to let me in !! I am surprised Erik Estrada and his partner did not load up on donuts, with so little to do. Littering ? I saw none in Long Beach, Hollywood, San Diego, etc..
New Yorkers are inconsiderate, rude, discourteous, "me- first" asshats and I would have left this godforsaken state years ago if not for family.
Bring on the red light cameras and while we are at it, add speed cameras to all the parkways and stop sign cameras to as many stop signs as we can. They will pay for themselves, and unfortunately due to our "good" neighbors, will never outlive their usefulness.

Wall Street could have a new zip code way way down south in the near future! And that tax base removal absolutely would crush not only NYC, but the entire state. Chicago would actually look good if that happens!!

But for the most part they are simply gripping

I see it daily down here
Almost everyone is from ny ,nj and north east
By in large they are much much different in demeanor and temperament that when back up north
And I’ll include myself in that lot after a day or two of decompression

for clarity the area I’m in has 0 native population the entire township is transplants hell the two surrounding towns boca and delray are mostly transplants and snow birds from way back when

The attitude comes with the territory
Get tough or get run over
We all have options
Most of us deal with it get used to it and stay
Some for family
Some for money
Some to secure their pension

and then we exercise our option and go
I know I’m on the back side of that hill sliding out the door

Just have the lights turn Green 8 seconds after the other light turns Red. Do it at all the Lights and I guarantee accidents will be reduced. Throw the book at the Driver who obviously went thru a red light, not someone kind of close like a driver who didn't stop all the way making a right on red or a driver making a right or left turn . Use the Red Light Camera to Catch those who obviously go thru Red Lights and Give Tickets to people who repeatedly drive thru the light within the 8 seconds.
And Put the Red Light Camera sign Next to the Light so you see it far away .

Like the drivers were pre programed, cars would stop at the intersection and 2 would drive thru , while the other cars waited their turn, the cars cleared the intersection and the waiting cars would proceed thru. In NY , it's chaos at intersections , no waiting, just drive any which way .
I guess living in the Natural Disaster State you need more cooperation on the road.

Ive been aware of this crap for 20 years,. they want the timing of the signals screwed up purposely for some sick irrational reasons,, they’ll never correct it, good luck… $$$… cellfish…
