the "Headline That Caught My Attention or the WTF" thread

so charge it then......................

They can't take CCs, nor checks, so if they can't take debit cards it's cash only.

Cash and carry is the way to go until they straighten this nonsense out
So stupid that a business that states deem legal are getting such a hassle from banks

The card companies are doing something similar against firearm purchases. I wonder where the uproar is about that.

Any licensed captains or anyone holding a mariner's document remember, you need to be in a drug testing program. When you renew your credentials with the NMC you need to show a drug test to get your medical certificate.

If you want to smoke pot, kiss your license good bye!

Is that true?
You cant by ANY firearm anywhere in any form other than cash??

The CC company association has created a special classification for firearms and firearm sellers. So, no it's not banned yet, but one has to wonder why they would do that unless there was intent to limit or eliminate transactions.

It's a step toward the same thing you're talking about with cannabis sales. A legal product that is being shadow-banned by the inability to conduct business with a common form of exchange.

In the case of cannabis though, I wonder if it doesn't have to do with federal law. AFAIK, the feds haven't legalized it yet, and maybe the card issuers are concerned about being involved in what is still a federally illegal activity.

Pot buyers have been paying cash for more then 50 years - they're used to it so I don't see it as an issue.

Its so F’ng stupid forcing these LEGAL business owners to have so much cash on hand at the end of their business day that they are targets to be robbed
It's even more insane since they must pay employees in cash too because no FDIC banks or the equivalent Credit Union can provide bank services to these business because they are dealing with an Federally decreed Schedule whatever drug.

Not even close since you can always use cash or ATM card for purchases, while the businesses can have banking services.

According to federal guidance circulated among hunting education groups and shared with Fox News Digital, the Department of Education determined that, under the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) passed last year, school hunting and archery classes are precluded from receiving federal funding. The interpretation could impact millions of American children enrolled in such programs.

According to Floyd, his organization boasts 1.3 million students from nearly 9,000 schools across 49 states who are enrolled in archery courses. Some of those schools have already canceled plans to include archery or hunting education courses in their curriculum due to the Education Department guidance.

The utility company, Con Edison, responsible for providing energy to 10 million people in New York City and Westchester County, justified the decision to raise rates in an interview with Fox News Digital.

"Our customers demand safe and reliable service and increasingly renewable energy. This investment from customers is going to allow us to redesign and rebuild the grid, to move it towards electrification," Con Ed media relations director Jamie McShane told Fox News Digital.

"We're very aware [of] the burden that this puts on customers who are struggling to pay their bills," he continued.

Last week, the energy company announced that the state had approved its plan to raise customer rates and acquire more than $11 billion by 2025 to fund initiatives contributing to New York’s clean energy goals.

Keep smiling while you pay taxes for this to be in the forefront of issues related to a sinking country.

Democratic California Rep. Julia Brownley introduced the Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act on July 14, seeking to eliminate the terms "husband" and "wife" from a number of existing laws. The proposed legislation would replace those terms with gender-neutral words like "spouse" or "married person."

The bill would strike terms "husband and wife" and "former wife," in favor of "married couple" and "person who has been, but is no longer, married to." The term "one man and one woman" would also be eliminated and replaced with "two people as spouses."

That is exactly what they have been doing. "Illegal" business, but still have responsibility to pay taxes!

That's how they got Al Capone.

IIRC when Colorado legalized it the IRS put all the shops out of business. Since buying a federally illegal product wasn't expense-able they had to pay tax on 100% of their income.

It's more proof of the incompetence of government. When it was illegal, they couldn't stop it. When it was legal, they bankrupted it.

Maybe it's time to declare a War on Education.
