yeah - none of this the parents go to the dchool & start the "how dare you?"

My father figured if they socked you - you probably deserved it & dad would give you another sock for misbehaving....

Although I did have one sadistic Nun that would make you knell on the hard wood floor with your arms outstreached for the whole class. You know how heavy your arms get after about 10 minutes of this? Let your arms sag & she'd hit you between the shoulder blades with yardstick.

That was my Dad's line too, and his other classic was, "If you get arrested make sure you call so I know you're alive, but if it's at night get comfy because I'm not getting you until the next morning."
 
friends when i was young and went to school i was in gym,, i still remember his name bob steele,,, he turned around and slapped me hard,,,, so when i got home i told my mother,, mom you have to come and go to the school,,, joe why,,, the gym teacher slapped me hard,,, she said im not going up to the school,, you must of did something,,maybe you were fooling around,,, joe he would not slapped you for nothing ,,,,,, i thought my mother would whacked me again in the house,,,,,,:mad::LOL:,,,,,,,,,,,,today mr steele would be fired!!!!, :p (y) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ><)))):>

Sr. Emellda at St. Vincent Ferrer had a ping pong paddle that had a smiley face on one side and a sad face on the other.

We were all lined up in her office to get whacked for acting up in class and i was on the back of the line watching.
I had second thoughts about it and walked out of the office , down the stairs and out the door to my home two blocks away.

My mother said what he hell are you doing here, ( we were third grade children) - I told her what was goin on and she marched me back up to the school, confronted the Nun and instructed her to never hit any of her children ( 7 kids of hers in that school) - she told me “if anyone was going to hit you, it would be me”
She never hit any of us.

a 4ft 75 yr old nun and 35 kids in a class.....beat them kids

the parents complaining about the corporal punishment were the ones sending undisciplined disrespectful lil chits to school...most kids never got hit...it was the FEAR that kept the rest in line...i got hit three times in grammar school.....deserved all three and it did me no harm...never got hit in private high school.....being 6ft 2" 225lbs maybe helped
