I saw the search plane circling yesterday on the way back. Thought it was odd such a large plane was circling so low.
 

The Onancock Main Street Initiative (OMSI) is pleased to announce the addition of three members to its board.


Brittany Burns

After many years behind the chair, Brittany Burns put her dreams into motion by becoming owner and stylist at Canvas Hairdressing on North in Onancock. She has many fond memories of growing up near Onancock. As a member of the OMSI Board, she is passionate about supporting the community and exploring new ways to energize the town's historic downtown area. A graduate of Nandua High School, she has made the shore her home along with husband, Tye, and two children, Sutherlyn and Tip.



Elizabeth Lankford

Elizabeth Lankford is president of Blue Crab Bay Company. She has been a resident of Onancock for more than three years and lives in Scott Hall, the oldest house in the town. Lankford is a member of Francis Makemie Presbyterian Church in Accomac, and a board member of the Francis Makemie Society, the United Way of Virginia's Eastern Shore and the Virginia Specialty Food & Beverage Association. She is a 2006 graduate of James Madison University.



Beth Temple

Beth Temple retired to Onancock in 2012 after 28 years in Alexandria. She has been a teacher, curriculum developer, educational events producer, political campaigns manager, and worked in the office Mayor of Alexandria William D. Euille. Temple has served on several boards including the Virginia Commission for the Arts; the Onancock Business and Civic Association (OBCA); the Historical Society for the Eastern Shore of Virginia; Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Vestry; and Friends of Accomac Library. She also led a team that produced the Onancock Christmas Homes Tour and worked with OBCA to promote the NEW initiative (No Empty Windows) to add color and liveliness to Onancock’s main street.
