It's apparently been out for quite some time. Well more then 1/2 of the new homes being sold (and the pace h=has picked up dramatically in the last coule of years) are sporting NJ, NY, PA or CT plates on the cars as the bew residents move in,

In the past 6 months in the two block square around my house I've met folk from Northport (2 families), Quoge, 2 familes from NJ, All when asked why it seems to be:
  • affordabillity
  • lower utility rates
  • low taxes
  • wanting to escape the rat race & enjoy a simpiler life & small town enviorment
  • less stressful
  • less congestion & no traffic
Even George used to vacation here with his family as a youngster.

launch scheduled tonight from Wallops Island unless this wind delays it - supposed to be clear - I should be able to see it from my front porch - looks like you folks are going to as well

link to live stream - becomes active 40 minutes prior to lift off

Very cool, many pop up groups who secure access at great locations are doing this on both the north and south shores of LI….some even offer Yoga before during and after the paddling.

Launch Tonight @ Wallops Island Flight Facility

Yeah something's screwy with those number, just checked the same table for a property on 17 Sturgis St., and an asking price of $295K and this is what showed up

Public tax history

YearProperty taxesTax assessment
2022$1,756 +21.6%$295,100 +24.6%
2021$1,444$236,800
2020$1,444 +15.1%$236,800 +15.1%

So if one were to apply the 6X price differential in a linear fashion, the 2022 taxes for the $1.8 million house should be a paltry $10.5K, which makes a lot more sense.
