The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

We have been down since Thursday afternoon ..... our boys showed up as well, daughter in-law, new grandson, and dogs (4 of 'em). We all had a blast over the weekend. I think more time was spent the dock then anywhere else. I dont have a boat here yet ..... maybe next trip.

We caught enough crabs for a crab in red sauce over spaghetti dinner. The variety of fish in our creek is amazing. Between the 4' cast net and rod and reel we caught small stripers, small blues, speckled trout, white perch, spot, peanut bunker, croakers, 1 weak fish 14", and today I caught a small redfish (my first).

Seems to have, at least on the creek I'm on. I was here once in July, and labor day weekend. I think once it cools down a little more should even be better !

hey John - you catch the sunset tonight from your dock?

It looked pretty lovely from here.....

We face East, only sunrises here. We did go out with some neighbors down to Kelly's tonite. That was a very nice pub ! After dinner we caught the sunset over the bay at the pier there !

love Kelly's - owner name is Gene - he's originally from NY was basically hanging out there pretty much every night for two weeks while I was looking for a house

I'm confused. Wasn't the small town feel, open spaces, and reasonable real estate property prices accompanied by low property taxes, a major part of the allure that attracted you, Macks and Capt 13 to the Eastern Shore? Now you're embracing the potential influx of economic powers that would threaten that charm??

Sounds like you're envisioning "LI Suburbia South" and are forgetting many of the reasons you left LI. Personally I'd go alinear if I heard that a Bevy of Bezos Bozos were touring Midcoast Maine.

Be careful of what you wish for...
Not sure I'd want Amazon down the block from me. We're moving down to get away from the traffic, noise and congestion. I want to hear the wind and the birds not horns.

just got a message from the Brit's wife on Facebook - she & the Brit are stuck on the other side of the Chesapeake due to high winds - they shut down the CBBT to trailers & trucks - looking at weather.com - it doesn't look like there's going to be much lessening of the wind until after midnight
