To get back a bit on track, "The Donald" made one of his few true statements yesterday predicting a market crash if he wasn't re-elected. Strictly speaking for some unknown reason, it is a fact that the Market does love him. I will divest myself of everything if his re-election seems to be in question.

That is a good statement and I will be leaning in that very direction. The problem will be finding bottom to get back in. "New" bottoms will be daily!
 
He’ll win and the market will remain strong for a long time. The main reason is because the democrats have no platform other than to get him out of the WH. I also don’t get the strategy of having 20+ people running. All that they are going to do is piss off many people in their base who most likely feel cheated because their candidate didn’t make the cut (Alla Bernie Sanders 2016).

It’s tough to discuss this topic and predict where the market is heading without bringing up some political discussion.
 
THE FED SAID TODAY no rate cut today...but looks likely in near future due to current slowdown.........historically we have recessions every 7 or so years...regardless of who the president is...we are 3 years beyond that....if extraordinary measures are taken to keep this market going til the 2020 election....the fall will be very bad regardless of who wins........so the hint at rate cuts and the potus backing off a bit on his insanity may stabilize things.....but we could wake up to a LEHMAN brothers EVENT ONE DAY and well you know the rest

Good points. What is the democrats platform? All I hear is get Trump out. Ok, but replace with what?? Voting democrats should be concerned with that strategy. Back to stock market items. Market looks like it will open up today.

Richard Bernstein was chief strategist for Merrill Lynch in the 90s, now runs his own shop for about $4B in assets. Good analysis, a bit technical but Republicans will get it.
