the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

Zero Natural Aromas, Zero.. the warm ocean doesn’t have any smell and the land doesn’t either,,not any broadleaf trees, it’s all visual, yes the ocean clearer , little smell compared to our cold water in NE.. 4-5 months only for me there ,cellie...

C’mon Cellie. A black n tan cost twice as much up here!!? This is what I’m doing now,Reminiscing...

Crap, time for the "Black and Tan" lecture, right up there with "Corned Beef" isn't Irish...

NEVER, EVER ask for a Black and Tan ANYTHING in an real Irish Pub. If a place here says it's an Irish Pub and they have "Black and Tan" on the menu, call them out, they ain't really Irish. The "Black and Tans" were part of the British Constable forces in Dublin and after the Easter Rising of 1916 they were pretty brutal in the treatment of IRA members, family members and sympathizers. If you want a glass of "half Guinness and half Smithwicks" in Ireland, you ask for a "Half and Half".

If an American asks for a "Black and Tan" in a pub in Ireland, he'll get it, along with silence and cold, icy stares. If a Brit asks for one, he usually gets shown out the door, often with some dental rearrangements...

OK, lecture over.

And if a Cuban asks for one at Molly McGuires Pub on the rear side of Franklin St. in Chapel Hill...He get another and another and get pretty lucky with some good looking UNC babes!

Of course that was 30 years ago!!

Then you know what the mating call of the Southern Belle Collegian is . . . . "I'm so drunk!"

Without Silent Sam standing guard anymore, how are current students warned about the presence of a virgin???

Sipping the morning cup, listening to the news and watching a parade of the most foul waterfowl, cormorants!! Seems they've completed their northern migration last night and have descended like the plague of locusts they are. At least that means the ospreys will be here soon...

U home Frank , not true .! Housing in Florida maybe less, but everything else the same...cellfish...
Yeah but housing is affordable, insurance is affordable, the cost of living in general is cheaper then in NYC. You can’t argue that. Are some places in FL expensive sure. Just like here in the City. But just outside of it, it’s WAY cheaper then trying to live here. Of this all comes with having the right job. Either way my wife is dabbling with the idea I’d rather not move somewhere that’s warm all year long.

I think it all comes down to quality of life. Raising kids around here isn’t bad, but it isn’t no great shakes either. If I could make the same money down on the east coast of Florida, which I probably could, the quality of life would definitely be better. I could never move though because of my wife.

I lived in Miami for 23 years before moving north,Carolina then NY. Fell in love with the change of seasons. Now, Florida’s a nice place to visit.?

Just curious Benny, is it because your wife wouldn’t want to make the move south. Or are you saying to Frank. Don’t move south just because your wife wants to??

My wife is anchored to her job up here. She cannot move.
