Whats going on in the World

The Big Apple has seen the largest reduction in spending across the country, with a deficit of $12.4 billion a year.

"Less spending by workers in the central areas means a lot less sales tax revenue," Jose Maria Barrero, a professor at Mexico’s Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo and a member of the WFH Research group, told Bloomberg. "If you have fewer commuters, that means less revenue."

"If less income tax is being paid in New York City," Comptroller Brad Lander told Bloomberg, "then it’s hard to figure out how to capture enough value to maintain the subways and invest in the schools and keep the city safe and clean and all the things that really matter."

Keep the city safe and clean????????? What????? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

yeah , and provide for illegals people and illegal drug problems… cellfish…
Interested in the tax loss from the migrations. The folks I know who left earned between 500K and 1M. Between city and state, figure 10%. And the migration "in" is NOT contributing that kind of tax revenue, but requires services, etc. So a net outlay by the city!

A Rising Awareness That Balloons Are Everywhere in Our Skies

The United States is going to need a lot of missiles if its fighter jets are to shoot down every stray balloon that sets off a radar warning in American airspace.

“At any given moment, thousands of balloons” are above the Earth, including many used in the United States by government agencies, military forces, independent researchers and hobbyists, said Paul Fetkowitz, president of Kaymont Consolidated Industries, a maker of high-altitude balloons in Melbourne, Florida.

Fetkowitz and other experts say this flotilla may explain the origins of some of what John Kirby, a National Security Council spokesman, called the “slow-moving objects at high altitude with a small radar cross section” that were shot down over the United States and Canada in recent days.

"This is a total shocker,” Terry Deshler, an emeritus professor of atmospheric science at the University of Wyoming, said of the recent downings and the enhanced-tracking effort.

“For years you didn’t hear anything about balloons,” he said. “Now, we’re on the lookout for any kind of flying object.”

Fetkowitz said he worried that government officials in Washington might not realize how crowded American skies had become with high-flying balloons. “There’s a concern that the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing,” he said of military and civilian activities.

Each year, around 60,000 high-flying balloons are launched just by the National Weather Service, the agency said. They rise into the stratosphere, a layer of the planet’s atmosphere that extends to a height of roughly 30 miles.

can’t believe NYTimes bout anything… cellie…
how about ABC News?
With the recent shootdowns of "high-altitude objects," there's heightened awareness about what's flying in U.S. airspace, especially weather balloons.

As it turns out, the skies are crowded.

On any given day, nearly 1,800 weather balloons are launched across the world, including 92 here in the U.S. and U.S. territories, according to the National Weather Service.

could easily say the same thing to those willing to jump on any conspiracy theory - so what are they aliens? You're a smart man - do you actually believe all of this is foreign actors? Televangelists? Disney?

This stuff has probably been out there all this time. Because of the first one - we've changed the way we are looking for them & seeing more crap floating overhead.

Here's a qucik example of radar returns: (not to mention Infra Red etc...) I had a 72 Mile Raymarine Array on my boat. I could pick up a balloon floatimng on the ocean 70 miles away on my radar. That was 15 years ago. Now ask what the government has today.
There BS response about tweeking their shit is a lie for fools to believe.

ABC news are less than wholesome, can’t deny it…
i detest those propaganda fools… it’s because of them, the country is where it is…

Nation Weather Service

Twice a day, every day of the year, weather balloons are released simultaneously from almost 900 locations worldwide! This includes 92 released by the National Weather Service in the US and its territories. The balloon flights last for around 2 hours, can drift as far as 125 miles away, and rise up to over 100,000 ft. (about 20 miles) in the atmosphere!
