Is anything from the early days of Rock and Roll any different? Put some lyrics to a 1-4-5 blues riff and you have 80% of the music from the 50s. Is that a bad thing?

Judging by his longevity and wealth, I'd say Jimmy Buffets "simplistic" music is appealing to many generations of fans.

And man was it a party atmosphere. People wearing Parrot Hats, wearing grass skirts & drinking Margaritas in the parking lot, singing along.. Had a terrific night.
