Them equating that to him losing those votes in the general election. That's no kind if analysis. It's pure speculation as to the meaning of the so-called protest vote.

However, those changes to the individual section of the tax code are poised to sunset in 2025, meaning that many taxpayers – including those who earn less than $400,000 – will face steeper levies if the law is not extended.


"If lawmakers allow full expiration to occur, most Americans will see their personal tax bills rise and incentives for working and investing worsen," said Erica York, senior economist and research director at the Tax Foundation.

In addition to lowering the top tax bracket for wealthy Americans, the Trump-era law raised the thresholds for several income tax brackets – essentially lowering the liability for many households.

The expiration of the tax law on Dec. 31, 2025, will essentially mean that many Americans will be forced to pay anywhere between 1% to 4% more in taxes unless certain provisions are extended or made permanent, according to the Tax Foundation.

The original law was partially paid for by the so-called SALT deduction cap, which limits the amount of state and local taxes that Americans can deduct from their federal taxes to $10,000. That cap is also poised to end in 2025. Welcome back the alternative minimum tax!

However, the SALT cap as a revenue generator has lost some potency since 2017, thanks to fresh workarounds.

I will admit, the workaround has provided the Longcast family relief from the tax invader.

Pass through entities (S-Corp and Partnerships) would normally "pass through" the income to the shareholder / member etc. Then that income is reported on the SH tax return and taxes are paid. State income and real estate taxes were then capped at 10K.

So overtaxed states (NYS in this case) were getting pummeled by its constituents regarding this lost deduction. Although they truly did not understand that in most cases the alt min was catching them anyway. So be it.

The "workaround" was setting up a system to allow the NYS tax (other states too) to be calculated and deducted at the entity level, and a credit was pushed down to the SH for taxes paid, effectively avoiding the SALT cap.

If you do not have any substantial earned income, you probably have not missed anything.

Every time I read one of these articles and I see the Antisemitic word I laugh. The Arabs protesting are Semitic. It’s as dumb as the changing of the definition of vaccination.
 
Amazing..... This development is significant because Trump has previously blamed the GSA for packing the boxes that contained the classified documents, only to later accuse Trump of essentially stealing them and using that as pretext for sending the FBI to raid his Mar-a-Lago home in August 2022.
