My wife isn’t into it. Took her out a few times when I had my Mako. She enjoyed the ride but not the fishing. She tried but I could tell.

I’ll vouch for MTBs better half. She’s a fishing machine. Worked many trips on the Snowgoose with them onboard.

You guys are spoiled by fishing in shallow water, how many of these modern lightweight reels can you use jigging in 400 feet of water? Almost none, maybe the big avets, that's it. OTOH the 3/0 and up Senators can do it with no problem.

I don't fish that deep. Maybe 200 ft.

On some charters deep jigging for pollack, haddock and redfish in the gulf of Maine. I've been doing the Phipps trip on the Yankee boats for a couple of years now and I usually do at least one other "marathon" with the guys in the fall.

I will admit that the one thing I did keep from my wife is that the boat came with a port-a-potty. Never took it out, or even opened of the box, & it's in a corner of the garage. If a pail is good enough for me, it's good enough for her. That's fishing.

I use cash or buy visa giftcard so my better half doesn't get a heart attack.
Once she caught me and I told her I don't do it to hide anything, it was for the sake of her weak heart that I go thru all the trouble.



No, it didn't work.

When I worked on my blown motor for 2 months, she did give me the OK to go and get another one.

My wife on my boat, early this season.
Her first fishing trip on my boat in nearly 23 years. My first boat was areal POS and after one trip on that she said no more.
Lately, she has been watching a Korean fishing show with me and with all the time she had due to the virus, she came out with me and had a blast.

She is looking foward to next season.
