Coronavirus

I need 10 more fingers and 10 more toes
To even start counting the number of times I’d been “ in contact “ with some one that tested positive
Good for you! You are one of the few who's immune system reacts neutrally to the virus and is not affected.

NEWSFLASH.....Not everyone reacts like you. Have you not figured that out yet or has the narcissism completely overwhelmed your rationality?

ME, ME, ME.......effin ME!

just throwing this out there FWIW...i'M NOT A FAN OF MASKS AT ALL by the way

ALL the covid deaths are due to bacterial pneumonia which is caused by wearing masks...

How does wearing masks cause the deadly bacterial pneumonia?

Very simple, in three steps:

1) We exhale toxic bacteria from our noses,

2) The mask catches what would otherwise fall to the ground harmlessly,

3) When we breath that bacteria now caught in the mask back into our respiratory system and it invades our lungs, we then develop bacterial pneumonia which is deadly and fatal...

How simple must that have be to understand and just how stupid can these lunatic politicians be not to know this, or tell everyone if they know, which would be evil...

C'mon Gene, when posting things like this, why aren't you citing where???

Here's a few contrapositions...

Expert Sets Straight 5 Common Face Mask Myths

Myth #1: Wearing Face Masks Can Cause Fungal and Bacterial Infections – Like Pneumonia

First, let’s talk about bacterial infections. The way bacterial pneumonia tends to develop is through aspirating – or breathing in – contents into the lungs. So, in terms of wearing a mask, the respiratory droplets you exhale that land on the inside of your mask that you then breath back in will not give you bacterial pneumonia.

If you have phlegm, you should find a way to safely spit it out. That way you aren’t at risk of breathing in large amounts of mucus or saliva into your lungs, which is how bacterial pneumonia develops.

Fungal pneumonia, otherwise known as pneumonia caused by molds, is extremely rare and mostly seen in people with low performing immune systems – like those with cancer, a transplant or other types of immune deficiencies. One way you could, hypothetically, end up with fungal pneumonia is if you find an old mask that’s really moldy and decide to use it. It’s very important to keep your masks clean and wash them after every wear.

Additionally, people who regularly wear masks for prolonged periods of time don’t have higher rates of pneumonia than the rest of the population.

From Reuters: Fact check: No evidence mask wearing will cause bacterial pneumonia

Fact check: No evidence mask wearing will cause bacterial pneumonia

A graphic shared on social media falsely suggests that wearing a mask will cause bacterial infections and hypoxia, a condition in which the body’s cells do not receive enough oxygen.

The post (here) shows an illustration of lungs with a caption that reads: “Bacterial pneumonia. When you exhale your body is eliminating toxins and unhealthy bacteria. By wearing a mask the toxic matter is trapped on the fabric and you’re inhaling it all in, causing infections like bacterial pneumonia and hypoxia.”

Reuters has previously debunked claims that masks can cause bacterial infections (here and here)

A team of global health scientists and infection preventionists at the Meedan Digital Health Lab (learnaboutcovid19.org/) told Reuters there was “no evidence” to suggest face masks can increase the chance of developing pneumonia, “or any other bacterial, fungal or viral infection in the lungs”.

They added that masks are safe and effective for most people, though said there were some exceptions, such as “very young children (under two years of age in the United States) and people with health conditions that make it difficult to wear a mask (ex. certain pre-existing pulmonary or cardiac issues, mental health conditions, developmental disabilities).

“For the vast majority, wearing masks is an effective way to help reduce COVID-19 transmission without causing any major side effects, as long as masks are kept clean and used correctly,” they said.

While people do not develop pneumonia from simply breathing into their own masks, experts have advised people to ensure they regularly clean their non-medial face coverings in order to avoid contamination (p.10 here here) . The World Health Organisation also advises that masks are not worn during exercise, as sweat can make a mask wet and promote the growth of microorganisms (here).

The Facebook post also claimed that wearing a mask can cause hypoxia, a condition where a part of the body does not receive enough oxygen (here).

The American Lung Association and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center both say it is not true that wearing a mask lowers oxygen intake (www.lung.org/blog/covid-masks and here).

The Mayo Clinic non-profit academic medical centre has said that that wearing cloth masks presents no risk of hypoxia in healthy adult. “Carbon dioxide will freely diffuse through your mask as you breathe,” it says (here).

As these sources note, healthcare workers have worn face coverings for extended periods of time without injury (here and here).

VERDICT

False. Correct use of masks will not cause bacterial pneumonia or hypoxia.

You should probably just not wear some fabric on your face period
brilliant - so send healthcare workers unprotected to treat COVID patients??

Terrific logic.

My cousin who is an IC RN in Danbury sent me this. This is what she goes through multiple times a day.

1st Heath care workers are well versed in the appropriate use and handel if if ppe

second they don’t simply wear cloth not that I’m convinced their surgery mask or even n95s are worth a crap but at least they follow protocol when using them

3rd hospital workers and ppl in general can wear whatever they wish or nothing at all
Just because I don’t believe they are needed does not stop anyone from wearing one

just as your opinion won’t persuade me to put on one

that’s simply the way it is and always will be
18 months later you still can’t get that through your tiny little liberal mind

Good luck to your friends. I hope they get better soon. Very scary to think you are insulated but you are not. Chances are their symptoms will not extend beyond the annoying.

As for the mask issue, early on we were told to REUSE all our masks as supply was dwindling.

Masks are and always will be meant to be disposable! With Covid came the practice of reusing or wearing the mask for extended periods of time. NOT GOOD!

More than 4,000 face-mask incidents have been reported to the TSA

pressherald.com/2021/09/10/more-than-4000-face-mask-incidents-have-been-reported-to-the-tsa/

By Lori Aratani September 10, 2021
Transportation Security Administration officers wear protective masks at a security screening area at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in SeaTac, Wash. on May 18, 2020.

The Transportation Security Administration, charged with enforcing the federal mask mandate in airports, on trains and in other transportation settings, said Friday it has received more than 4,000 reports of face mask-related incidents since the requirement was put into place earlier this year.

The agency has sent warning letters in just under 4,000 of those cases and is pursuing possible fines in 126 incidents, according to a spokeswoman. The agency did not have information on whether the violations took place at airports or in other settings.

The Biden administration said this week it is doubling the fines for those who refuse to follow the federal mask mandate, which is designed to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The increased fines are among actions the administration is taking to stop the spread of the more contagious delta variant.

The face-mask mandate, announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in January, went into effect in February and covers people who travel on planes, trains and use public transportation.

Starting Friday, those who refuse to wear masks face possible fines ranging from $500 to $1,000. Those caught violating the federal mandate a second time face fines from $1,000 to $3,000.

“We appreciate the majority of travelers each day who voluntarily follow the requirement, but find this action necessary to maximize the protections for those who use and work within the transportation system, and to contain COVID-19,” TSA Administrator David Pekoske said in a statement that accompanied the announcement. “By doubling the range of penalties, we seek to reinforce the importance of voluntary adherence.”

Those who face possible fines are given the opportunity to present their case to a TSA official or can request a hearing before an administrative law judge. Fines are based on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The penalties assessed by the TSA are separate from those that passengers who disrupt flights may face. Cases where a traveler causes a disturbance on a flight are handled by the Federal Aviation Administration, which last month proposed $532,000 in total fines against 34 passengers accused of disrupting flights, including one who threw a carry-on bag at other passengers.

This year, the FAA has received 3,889 reports of unruly passengers on flights – 2,867 of those involving travelers who refused to wear masks in defiance of the federal mandate. In all, the FAA has proposed more than $1 million in penalties for people who violate federal rules for conduct on flights.

Different countries have taken different approaches to enforcing mask mandates.

In Canada, travelers can face a fine of $5,000 (U.S. $3,950) for not wearing a mask at airports and while flying.

I’ve flown a lot in the last several months
At least for me
2 to 4 flights a month and have yet to see an unruly passenger

non compliant yes
Combative or unruly no

Most simply comply for a second then go back to their natural state or find a bag of penuts and chew
