Landscaping

Those look great, what kind of wood did you use and how well will it hold up to moisture? Forgive me if you had already mention it. Joe
Pressure treated, they were a little expensive but a lot cheaper than some of the boxes I saw on line.
The inside will be lined with plastic, on the bottom will be 5" of stone for drainage.
Should hold up quite nicely, going to paint them next spring to match the trim on my house.

I gotcha, absolutely they should last. I needed wood that would last but for my vegetable garden. I’m afraid to use the pressure treated. Everything I’ve tried has not lasted more than 2 seasons. Ty Joe

The cheap route is to just use railroad ties. Stacked Pavers would be good too.

I am using PT 4x4's for my veg garden in the back of my deck, again I used plastic liners but thinking about it, ones as bad as the other. lol

First major landscaping job of the season. I removed 1/2 of the stones from the old greenhouse that was taken down before I bought this place. Stones where 6-8 inches deep with 50 years of organic debris that became soil. Dug , washed and reinstalling around Mojoe’s she shed.

Earlier this week after ripping out an old hydrangea, I planted some seeds, mostly flowers like liatris, crepe myrtle (hope I can get a bush to grow) and milkweed (to save the monarch butterfly of course.) I also planted some very old seeds of swiss chard which I haven't grown for a couple of years. It will be my only veggie if they germinate. If this covid thing is over, supposed to be away for a week in late September, which is when just about everything I used to plant ripens, lol. I can not believe we never had winter.

does crepe myrtle grow up there?

I don't recall ever seeing it. Down here - they're all over. I have 4 crepe myrtle trees on my property.

Some of my friends have mature and quite beautiful crepe myrtle. I finally gave in and bought a "leftover" in the fall of 2017 and have had two summers of nice flowers but its still under 6' tall. I have harvested its seeds and this year hoping some will germinate. I did notice that the seed pods I did not harvest all opened but with ground cover underneath I doubt they will germinate.
