The Roccus War on White Pine Weevils continues...

This little bastard, the White Pine Weevils is wrecking havoc with my beloved white pines:

You can tell they're at work when you see this:

When the trees are small, you can treat them easily by clipping the damaged boughs, and giving the plant some Bayer Tree and Shrub Feed and Protect, but when they're bigguns, you just have to watch and hope the tree is big enough to protect itself.

I HATE and am SCARED to death of ladders so when it came past time to clean and install leaf guards on our high 50' long gutter I figured it was time to bite the bullet and rent a lift to avoid multiple ups and downs on a long ladder with uneven ground below. After we finished that job, I looked up at one of our badly infested 45ish ft white pines and said, "WTH let's give it a shot with my extendable pole trimmer?"

Well it did work and I'll be renting this sucker periodically for all my future high-altitude work!!

these colieous were spaced nicely 8-12 inches apart, didn’t think they were gonna be a pretty, and they haven’t come to flower yet... cellie...
