Terrible how they're smearing Robert Moses

“And like any other project, they went through the path of least resistance.” Could it also be because the land was “least expensive”?

Terrible how they're smearing Robert Moses

“The first battlefield is to rewrite history.Anyone who know anything of history knows that great social changes are impossible without feminine upheaval.Social progress can be measured exactly by the social position of the fair sex, the ugly ones included.” -Karl Marx “The most effective way...

    Blackfish jigs

Live on the North Fork and have been doing the jig thing for several years now. I use Tidal Tails 1/2-1 ounce. Sometimes I’ll use 2oz. but at that point I’m more inclined to go conventional with a Snafu rig. My rod and reel are a St. Croix 6’6” MHF Tidemaster TI66MHF with a Shimano Stradic...

    Orient point please help!!!

Hey John hope all is well. Having lived out here 20 years full time now I can tell you that in the last 5 years or so the North Fork has become the “North annex of the South Fork”. With it has come increased car and boat traffic, bourgie restaurants, increased prices for services, and...

    Orient point please help!!!

Don’t usually comment but this time I will. You’re 100% wrong about your “cash flow” theory. These increased patrols were necessitated because of a large number of out of town residents who were using our beaches and leaving garbage everywhere and relieving themselves wherever they found fit all...

    Observation / Frustration

10% rule. Put 100 people in a room, 10 of them are idiots(to put it mildly). On the water this elite group is more obvious to the untrained eye?

    NY Boat Show

Same assessment. If you are not sure the economy is good, go to the show. The boat displays and prices definitely reflected it. Spent the most time at Steiger. If you take the LIRR ask for the boat show package ($28.50 round trip including boat show ticket from Ronkonkoma).

Post up up your 2019/2020/2021/2022 Blackfishing Pix/Reports/Adventures/Musings

Lep was out there yesterday and like you we had our share of shorts and a limit up to 7 lbs. It took an hour to get out there early in the morning and three hours to make it home in a 23’ Steiger pilothouse! Sporty to say the least...

How is the fishing in the Long Island Sound?

I’ve been fishing the LIS out of Mattituck for the last five years (before that Peconic Bay and points east). This year by far has been the worse year. One keeper fluke, not as many shorts and although I had a two week period in June where we were doing great with the seabass (easy limits 20”+...

Our Fragile Long Island Sound Fishery

Same here with the fluke this season. The worse I’ve had since I moved my boat up to the sound from the bay. Thankfully the seabass have cooperated.

Action Alert - Help Me Save Blydenburgh State Lake

I support it. I fished there when I lived up west. I enjoyed fishing it because it was secluded with light fishing pressure.

    Wind farm in Montauk

Years ago I had suggested to one of the Southold town councilman that we should utilize Plum Island as a windmill farm. His response- “It will never happen it’s a bird migratory route” Unbelievable...
