This was not my car it was owned by a very good lifelong friend who passed away about a year ago, This car ran like a raped ape. A 1957 Ford set up old school. IIRC it had a big block 406, the motor was worked to the balls pushing almost 600hp on the dyno at Motion Performance. Fiberglass tilt nose front end, straight front axle, fender well headers, 4 speed, and I think 456 gears. We were in high school and years ago on Friday or Saturday night we would get on Hempstead Turnpike at New Hyde Park Rd and cruise out to Farmingdale where there was a Burger King on the north side of the road right before Zorns. There were plenty of muscle cars back then doing the same thing. The BK parking lot looked like a Vanguard Showroom. This car, CASPER, was very well known. At National Speedway it turned high 11’s - low 12’s. We would pull wheelies on Hempstead Turnpike getting the front end 4’ off the ground. I helped him install wheelie bars. I can’t count how many times we were both under the car changing the blown rear gears. Life was good back then. He went on to drag race bikes professionally, I think around 8, or 9 second 1/4 mile. Built many bikes, both racing and chopper. RIP Kenny.
Zoom in on the car you’ll see CASPER the friendly ghost.
