Coronavirus

If you guys were familiar with what the Anthrax vaccine did to moral in the military and how many quit after the lies from the maker and superiors. You might think twice about this one. Those peeps (morons) may believe they are saving lives and with good reason.

Link Removed by MOD who read it and found if full of blatant falsehoods that people with a College 101 level of immunology would immediately recognize, items that were scientifically equivalent to "Earth is flat" claims...

Yes, there has been a lot of that.

WOW - The Mod was correct!! The deleted link stated that "the current COVID vaccines are NOT true vaccines!"

Well, what is a vaccine?

Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

Since ALL of the current vaccines that are being used, and those in queue to be approved in the near future, get that COVID-19 Spike Protein to be presented to the immune system so people make antibodies and immunity against the virus.

Guess the link's author was hoping that people reading their lies didn't know better. Why do people pass spread these lies around?

Publicists don’t like alternative opinions. Sort of like social media lately. So mister Mod is there a God or is there Everlution?
Your college 101 remark would definitely put all in the evolution theory category but alas here it is printed on the back of the most used currency that we use. Real to me as was what was posted. Your out of line.

Pope Francis has said that evolution and the Big Bang are consistent with the notion of a creator. And according to the pontiff, believers should not view God as "a magician, with a magic wand." To be sure, the Catholic Church's views on the origins of the universe and life, unlike those of many Protestant sects, have for years been largely in line with the scientific consensus. The church has long leaned toward what some describe as "theistic evolution," i.e., a God supernaturally created the universe and life but allowed natural processes to work over billions of years.

Reminds me of what happened this week on Wall St. (God Bless the kids that won with GameStop, mine included) When the little guy figures out how to beat the Fat Cats, they get shut down.

Think this woman is a flake?
She could be a flake but there’s more videos popping up warning the same. Maybe just a short term side effect. Who knows?

I have never said that any vaccine or drug comes without the possibility of negative side effects, and have never edited/removed things that talk about side effects. Nothing is perfect, and this lady's plight, as well as the others that will continue to pop up, have to be considered against the reality of the deaths of the 440,000+ and growing fellow Americans that have passed due to COVID-19. Medicine is a risk/benefit analysis.

Your original Anthrax post was left untouched, just removed the "supporting" document, which did not talk about the Anthrax incident you mentioned. It did, however, contain multiple, incorrect scientific claims regarding the COVID-19 vaccines. Many folks are leery about getting the vaccine and don't need blatant lies thrown their way to further complicate their decision.

I do not ascribe to the "I saw it on the internet so it must be true" mantra, so I do fact check things; I hope others here can make that statement. Often I find myself learning something new, which is appreciated and valued. On the flip side, too often I am saddened to realize that "social media" and the internet, along with lapses in the educational process, have encouraged people to abdicate their responsibility of rational thought and inquiry.

Organic farmers should look into "Sharing" and "Liking", it seems they make it easy to spread manure...

Captain Sir Tom Moore has been admitted to hospital with coronavirus, his daughter said.
The 100-year-old, who raised almost £33m for the NHS, was taken to Bedford Hospital after requiring help with his breathing, Hannah Ingram-Moore said on Twitter.

She said he had been treated for pneumonia over the past few weeks and last week tested positive for Covid-19.

Mrs Ingram-Moore said her father was not in intensive care.

A spokeswoman for the family said Capt Sir Tom had not yet received the Covid-19 vaccine due to the medication he was on for pneumonia.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: "My thoughts are very much with @CaptainTomMoore and his family. You've inspired the whole nation, and I know we are all wishing you a full recovery."

The Army veteran, originally from Keighley in West Yorkshire, came to prominence by walking 100 laps of his garden in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire, before his 100th birthday during the first national lockdown.

He was knighted by the Queen in July.
In December, he went on a family holiday in Barbados after British Airways paid for his flight.

In Mrs Ingram-Moore's tweet, she said her father had been at home with the family until Sunday when he "needed additional help with breathing".

She said the medical care he had received in the past few weeks had been "remarkable".

"We know that the wonderful staff at Bedford Hospital will do all they can to make him comfortable and hopefully [he will] return home as soon as possible," she said.

NHS Charities Together, which benefited from the millions raised, said he had been an "inspiration to the country" and had also led to many other people raising money and doing "crazy different things to support the charity and give extra support to the NHS".

Chief executive, Ellie Orton, said: "If it wasn't for him and the remarkable fundraising her has done, we wouldn't be able to [provide] the extra support that we give to the NHS.

"It's been phenomenal, the funds that he has raised are making a significant difference in the NHS right now and these funds are additional to what the NHS and the government are able to give."

She said it was being used for extra mental health support and wellbeing rooms and gardens for NHS staff as well as iPads for patients isolated from their families and bereavement counselling.

There has been an outpouring of well wishes for the centenarian on social media.

The Twitter account for England's national football teams said: "We're very sorry to hear this. We are thinking of you all and hoping Captain Sir Tom makes a full and speedy recovery."

Health Secretary Matt Hancock also sent his "best wishes", while Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said the whole nation was wishing him well, adding: "You've been an inspiration to us all throughout this crisis."

In a tweet, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan thanked the NHS for the care the veteran had received and said he hoped he would have a "speedy recovery" and be "back home with his family soon".

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker posted: "Come on Captain Tom", while actor and singer Michael Ball - who recorded a charity single with Capt Sir Tom - sent "love and prayers".

A Seattle hospital refrigerator malfunction led to a frenzied overnight inoculation drive.

Hundreds of people lined up for Covid-19 vaccines at Seattle University and other clinics after a refrigerator broke at a nearby hospital, meaning nurses had to quickly give out 1,600 doses of the vaccine or throw them away.

Hundreds of people lined up for Covid-19 vaccines at Seattle University and other clinics after a refrigerator broke at a nearby hospital, meaning nurses had to quickly give out 1,600 doses of the vaccine or throw them away.

Wearing bathrobes, pajamas or whatever else they could quickly throw on, hundreds of people flocked to get Covid vaccines in Seattle on Thursday night after a refrigerator that was chilling 1,600 doses broke down, leading to a frenzied overnight inoculation drive.

The impromptu vaccinations began after a refrigerator malfunctioned at a Kaiser Permanente hospital in Seattle, meaning the Moderna vaccines inside had to be quickly injected or they would become less effective and need to be thrown away. Health officials reached out to two other hospital systems in the city, and an urgent call was issued around 11 p.m., alerting residents that they had a rare chance to get vaccines if they could come right away.

“We’ve got to get these 1,600 doses into people’s arms in the next 12 hours,” Susan Mullaney, Kaiser’s regional president for Washington, said at a virtual news conference on Friday, describing the hospital’s call to action.

Within minutes, there were long lines outside at least two medical centers, and by about 3:30 a.m., the vaccines had all been administered, hospital officials said.

In interviews with local television stations, the arriving patients said they had been relaxing at home, washing dishes or watching the news when they saw that they suddenly had a chance to get a shot. One couple said their daughter had called after they were in bed to say that she had signed them up for an appointment at 1 a.m.

“We didn’t have time to dress up, so I just came as I am,” the mother said, motioning toward her husband, who was wearing a bathrobe.

The situation in Seattle was only the latest instance in which a breakdown in the inoculation process forced health officials to give the vaccines to anyone they could find. It also highlights the challenge posed by the two vaccines that have so far been approved in the United States — both need to be kept cold. Earlier this week, health workers stuck in a snowstorm in Oregon walked from car to car, asking stranded drivers if they wanted a shot, after realizing that the doses they were transporting might expire as they waited on the highway.

Seattle hospital officials told local news outlets that they had tried to prioritize older patients and others who were already eligible for vaccines in the state, but they said their first priority had been to give out all of the vaccines before they expired.

“We are tired, but we are inspired,” Kevin Brooks, the chief operating officer of Swedish Health Services, one of two hospitals that administered the vaccines, said in a statement. “It was touching to see grandmas in wheelchairs at 2 a.m. being vaccinated.”

Ms. Mullaney, the Kaiser regional president, said that every refrigerator and freezer at the Seattle location had since been tested and were all working properly.

The Latest: EU says crime gangs are forging negative test certificates

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The European Union’s police agency is warning nations to be on the lookout for fake COVID-19 test certificates, as crime gangs attempt to cash in on pandemic travel restrictions.

Many countries have introduced requirements for arriving passengers to show a negative COVID-19 test to slow the spread of the coronavirus brought in by people arriving from other nations.

Europol said Monday that recent cases reported by EU member states include a forgery ring selling negative test results to passengers at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and a counterfeiter detained by Spanish police for selling fake test results.

British authorities also caught fraudsters selling COVID-19 documents for 100 pounds ($137) each.

Wisconsin pharmacist who destroyed more than 500 vaccine doses believes Earth is flat, FBI says
When a pharmacist discovered 57 vials of the Moderna vaccine left to spoil outside a Wisconsin clinic’s refrigerator in December, the worker immediately suspected a colleague who had spread false and outlandish claims, according to court records.

Steven Brandenburg, the overnight pharmacist at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wis., had said he thought the vaccine would harm people, make them infertile, and implant them with microchips.

Now, federal authorities say belief in debunked claims went beyond the vaccine. The pharmacist, who has agreed to plead guilty to charges of attempting trying to spoil the vaccine, also believes the Earth is flat and that the sky is not real, according to court documents.

His beliefs were revealed in a search of Brandenburg’s phone, computer and hard drive recently unsealed in court by the FBI. The documents include interviews with Brandenburg and Aurora Medical Center pharmacy technician Sarah Sticker, who told authorities that she discovered the unrefrigerated doses of the Moderna vaccine at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 26. The unsealed records were first reported by the Daily Beast.

“Brandenburg was very engaged in conspiracy theories,” Sticker told law enforcement, according to court records.

Australian city locked down after first COVID-19 case since April
PERTH, Australia — The city of Perth has been locked down for five days after Western Australia state’s first case of local COVID-19 infection in almost 10 months.

The city of 2 million people and coastal towns to the south were locked down from Sunday night until Friday night.

This followed a security guard who worked at a Perth quarantine hotel contracting a highly contagious British variant of the virus. Overseas travelers who arrive in Perth must isolate in hotel quarantine for 14 days.

The last previous known case of someone being infected with COVID-19 within Western Australia was on April 11.

Western Australia, Australia’s largest state by area, has remained virus-free for months by enforcing the nation’s toughest border restrictions in an elimination strategy. Those within the state have enjoyed some of Australia’s least restrictive pandemic measures.

Schools which were due to resume on Monday will remain closed for another week.

Dam, I sound really smart.

Like a scientist or something.

Well theres only one problem using the Pope. I’m not Catholic. Don’t care what the Pope has to do with anything. So does that mean Roccus opinions are fact and the founding fathers and the rest of us are but mere sheep? Try telling that Pope remark to the Muslim crowd and see how it fares.
Did you fact check that woman? She gives her name and how to contact. Did you fact check the Anthrax vaccine problems?
How about Agent Orange? No not a vaccine but explain to these guys what happened to 1/3 of those that came in contact. Made to help the troops lol.
Perfect examples of why no one should ever trust a laboratory created anything without long term studies. At 10 months your a lab rat. Didn’t someone here say minimum around year and a half. Swear I heard that as fact.

Nope didn't fact check that particular woman, no reason to since there WILL be adverse reactions to any vaccine. Once again, there's no such thing as a perfect vaccine or drug. I hope the number of events like this that can be tied to the COVID vaccines continue to be a very low percentage of those vaccinated.

Did look give Anthrax Vaccination story a quick look at and see there's much debate regarding it, may or may not follow up on it.

Yes, very familiar with Agent Orange, best fishing/hunting buddy was a Nam vet who suffered from its effects. This is a concrete example where we let our Vets down. If my memory serves me, there's another toxic chemical incidence percolating with Vets who served on a base in Afghanistan that was once a Soviet chemical warfare storage area or dump, can't quite remember. Bottom line, many Vets who served there are exhibiting unusual health issues.

Here's a fun fact. "In God We Trust" has nothing to do with the Founding Fathers. On July 30, 1956, President Eisenhower approved a Joint Resolution of the 84th Congress, declaring IN GOD WE TRUST the national motto of the United States. IN GOD WE TRUST was first used on paper money in 1957, when it appeared on the one-dollar silver certificate.

So your question to me should ask, "Do you trust the Congress of 1956?", to which I'm not sure I can answer, since I was only a few years old. Up to that point the official US motto was the 1782-introduced, E Pluribus Unum, which is Latin for "Out of many, one", but of course being the US History expert you seem to be, you knew all that. For the record, I do trust the Founding Fathers, they were incredibly insightful, clairvoyant and sagacious, going out of their way to keep the separation of Church and State sacrosanct.

The Pope quote is just to show that science and a Supreme Being, no matter in what form you care to believe in, can coexist. Even Einstein agreed with that.

Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, proof of no "In God We Trust" on older currency that I have in my "archives"...

Both did. The “Classic Cruise” problem for the past 10 or so years has been Norovirus, a GI virus that is transmitted through poor hygiene. In 2020, COVID-19 struck the cruise industry with a vengeance. Symptoms totally different so doubt earlier outbreaks were not Norovirus.

So why aren’t you preaching to them the side effects instead of silencing those that point out those I’ll effects? These guys are lab rats? You said year and a half min yes/no?

God to the American Citizen was the righteous cause during the American Revolution that kept them believing it was just.

I know when it was put on a bill. It’s a reminder to all of you that we believe “One Nation Under God”.

And yes this is Fact.

Anything not 100% would mean yes you can still get it. Allowing people to not wear a mask after the vaccine is a bad idea...we know all the anti maskers who don't get the vaccine would also not wear masks...hell they already try
