certainly do - I cut them all down in Fall after the first frost which wipes them out - they come back up again the fiollowing spring along with new ones - they get 12 to 15 feet in height before the frost knocks 'em back again - leaves go 3 to 4+ feet
had one start to produce fruit one year

was kinda cloudy - so doing some yardwork....................
Trimming back the Salvia. Grows like a perennial down here. Didn't know that until this year. I usually pull it out in the Fall. Failed to do that & lo & behold it came back. It's right in front of a privey screen that I have the Jasmine growing on & it's overgrowing a brick walkway that I have to use to get to my garbage cans. Greats really large.
Every time I try for the garbage I have to walk through a swarm of bees (& butterflies). Bees haven't tried to sting me yet but I don't want to give them an excuse.
Also noticed one of my Banana Trees (a small one at that) is beginning to fruit. I'll try to load a picture later.

Transplant the salvia to a area you don’t disturb much so the bees can be happy.was kinda cloudy - so doing some yardwork....................

that's the game plan for next spring - where they are I may plant 4 "recreational plants".....................

Spent a lot of time walking around there in the 70’s and 80’s; never looked like that.

those pics are a small sliver of the park… it really beautiful,… all the piers around Manhattan were remodeled for sports, leisure, eatery’s, a lot of tourist… there’s a walking paths and bike path the rounds Manhattan, there’s a section near the United Nations that’s being worked on now to close the loop…
20 years ago Jersey City was a nothing, it’s developed on par to Long Island City…
Staten Island Ferry is FREE, great 1.5 hour view, wen the feet get tired…

Banana "clutch" in process...........
That "pod" that you see will continue to grow downward on the stem. As it grows that outside covering/shell opens up to reveal the fruit's flowers. Each of the flowers becomes a banana, It's not the best picture of it - but if you look at the right side of the pod toward the top in the second picture you can kinda see them.
Trees are now about 12-15 feet in height.
Except for the one that's fruiting. That one went only chest high before the pod emerged (Burst?) from the side of the trunk like that creature in Alien coming out of that guys chest.

Never saw that before although this is only the second time I've had one start bearing fruit. Last time the pod came out of the top of the tree & the tree was at 12 to15 feet or so.
I have better pictures that show it from the 1st time they did this but they are on a different PC. I try to put them up later.

The lawns in my neighborhood are primarily over watered, green, and lush
NOT mine
As I have stated repeatedly, I refuse to spend money on fertilizer to dump excess Nitrogen into the groundwater and ultimately the bay. I also refuse to spend money wasting water only to give my self extra work of having to mow every 5-6 days.
My neighbors just love me LOL
