Guys I have a spinning rod as well as a nice combo for sale.

The spinning rod is a 7' Tsunami used once nice for tossing plugs or jigging fluke or tog. Model # is tsspj-s701h 20-40 lb lure weight but it's not heavy at all. Only reason I'm selling is I had gotten the Challenger UL from Pete so dont need this one. $80.

Combo is a great fluke/sea bass jigging rod one of Pete's favorite the Hydra MB 876 which from what I understand is no longer made. This was made by Capt. Neil has cork grips 3" on fore about 13" on rear with trigger grip. Gold and red wraps nice moderate action. $225.

The reel is in great shape it's a calcutta 200te only issue is the small light gold cap fell off the handle. I called Gomerux who Mfg the handle they sent me a replacement knob but its darker gold. Reel is fine they way it is but I will throw in a shimano power handle with the wood knob you can put in I'd you want. Reel has 20lb 832 on it. $150 for the reel. If you want the combo I'll go $325. Let me know text me if you have any other questions 631 766-8249. Thanks Joe

That reel looks like it’s in cherry condition.

The 200te in post 189 has been sold to Capt. Rick. Hydra is still available for $200 as is the Tsunami spinner which would be an excellent jigger for Tog at $80. Thanks

Looking to pick up a Trevala S Spinning rod TVSS63L if anyone has one they are looking to move. This was my favorite inshore Tog /jig rod set up and it’s now somewhere at the bottom in the water around south Fishers Island with a blackfish attached to it.
thanks

Wow, that sux. I have that rod and like it for Sound and bay fluking. Its such a nice little stick!

Some one help Anthony out here!

Totally sux!! I had a Daiwa Ballistic LT 3000 on it too ! I am so mad at myself. Of course my local tackle shops don’t have that particular model (Light)

Anthony - it just occurred to me - I believe the Trevala S line has been discontinued by the Big S. If you want one, best to really look around, as they will become hen's teeth shortly. Try John at Trophy Tackle and J&H as well. . . Otherwise its a new Trevala PX or Grappler.

The Grappler LJ mode in the 180-gram power would be an AWESOME replacement for the Trevala S "L."

Considerably more expensive - but one look at it will tell you why.

Lep, you are spot on , they are discontinuing the Trevala S. I personally visited two tackle shops in my area , called about 5 more with no luck . Even Flea Bay didn’t have it. There were different models available UL, ML, Medium etc but not the Light. I finally found one in a store called Ramsey Outdoors in New Jersey. The guy at the store put it on the side for me and I drove there today to get it. I am sure this Grappler line will be great but being that the Trevala S was being discontinued , I had to get my hands on one more. Plus, I finally got use to the rod and was really loving it for shallow water light jig Togging.. I am waiting to replace the Daiwa BALLISTIC LT 3000 Too much $$$ at once. I have two Daiwa BGs 2500 I will use this season until I find a suitable replacement. Not opposed to picking up a good used one here either. Plus , after I hard year of Togging the first season with the Ballistic LT Up in Rhode Island , which included my first DD, the gears were damaged and I had to send it back to Daiwa. So not sure if I will jump to the 4000 Ballistic or change brands all together. Thanks for following up with me though .

Look at the Tsunami Evict 2000, if you are considering changing brands. Stainless gears and main shaft. Built for exactly what you are doing. Heavier than the fly-weight Ballistic, but not really noticeable in use.

Personally I would never use a Ballistic for heavy cranking, and I can say with certainty that the Evict will not need its gears replaced after a season of use, that's for sure. What a little tank that reel is.

A certain 6' Brown Shark found out what the smallest Evict can do, up close and personal, this past Summer offshore of Jones Inlet. Try that with a flea-weight Daiwa. On second though, you probably shouldn't.
