I purchased this combo trevalaS/Ballistic specifically because it was extremely light and I needed that due to recent surgeries that caused limited arm strength. Ballistic 6.7 Oz Evict 10.8 but if the Ballistic wont hold up maybe I should go with something with less finesse and more teeth so to speak. Or stainless teeth.Look at the Tsunami Evict 2000, if you are considering changing brands. Stainless gears and main shaft. Built for exactly what you are doing. Heavier than the fly-weight Ballistic, but not really noticeable in use.
Personally I would never use a Ballistic for heavy cranking, and I can say with certainty that the Evict will not need its gears replaced after a season of use, that's for sure. What a little tank that reel is.
A certain 6' Brown Shark found out what the smallest Evict can do, up close and personal, this past Summer offshore of Jones Inlet. Try that with a flea-weight Daiwa. On second though, you probably shouldn't.
thanks as always
