Whats going on in the World

"President Donald Trump, a little more than 100 days after taking the oath of office, questioned whether he had a duty to uphold the Constitution and the Fifth Amendment right to due process as he expressed frustration on judicial pushback to his mass deportation effort.

During a wide-ranging interview with NBC News "Meet the Press" moderator Kristen Welker, Trump was asked if he agreed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio that citizens and noncitizens alike are entitled to due process.

"I don't know," Trump responded. "I'm not a lawyer. I don't know."

I mean. Really?

He swore on a bible when he was inaugurated to uphold the Constitution.

Dang!
We're doomed....
No, just you.

You're not going to fix decades of corporate/government abuse of trade for profit in one presidential term. Probably would take ten to fifteen years if we stay focused. Which I promise you isn't going to happen as soon as another bought swamp-rat gets in office.

But hey, it's okay if we terminally sabotage the American people for a quick buck as long as I got mine, right? .

You know, I don't think you're a stupid guy, but it's amazing how you keep buying in to these media traps.

They want to shame Trump for his deportations, so they latch on to a mistake (like the government never does that) and try to manipulate the question of whether the process was correct into him bypassing the Constitution. Obviously the answer to "Do you have to uphold the Constitution?" is yes. But in their spin the question is "Does a bureaucratic mistake mean you're violating your oath of office?" To which a good answer is basically "I'm not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV. That's why we have lawyers to handle the law."

Naturally the trap is there's no winning answer with the media. If he answers the broad constitutional question with yes they'll cast it as he's knowingly violating his oath of office. If he gives the answer he gave, he has no clue about the constitution.

Lose/lose for him, but win/win for the media and your TDS.

Media Trap??

They asked him a question. That was his answer. You can spin it anyway you want to - but - that was his reply.

He's ignoring Court Orders. That's not only wrong - as it violates the oath he swore on a bible to during his inauguration. To uphold the Constitution but also validates his answer to the question that was asked.

and yes.........................

"he has no clue about the constitution."

As well as most things..

Well, guess what? There's a legal procedure to contest that.

Or don't you believe in due process?

He actually does too. Although the media wouldn't have you believe it.

sure he does..............................

So why has he not followed the orders issued by the Supreme Court?

Since neither of us are legal scholars, I'm going to defer to an attorney from another forum. A very left leaning attorney from what I can tell.

I mean shit, why do you think team trump had to resurrect a statute from 1798 that was designed to fuck the French over in a perceived war (and last used to put American citizens in concentration camps) instead of just shipping them out? even HE isn't arguing the constitution doesn't require due process -- he's arguing that since ms13 is an invading "foreign nation" (pause for laughter), he can invoke that statute.

I can direct you to the source if necessary, but I think he makes the point.

"Not Under Command": Maersk Container Ship Adrift Off US East Coast After Engine Room Explosion

by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, May 07, 2025 - 08:05 AM
A 335.5-meter container ship has been adrift off the U.S. East Coast for more than a week after an engine room explosion knocked out its propulsion system.

"The MAERSK SANA, a containership en route from Newark, USA to Singapore, remains not under command in the Atlantic off Bermuda" after "an engine room explosion disabled her propulsion on April 28," the ship tracking website MarineTraffic wrote on X.

MarineTraffic provided more clarity on Sana's status:

"The vessel came to a halt at 13:35 UTC that day and has been drifting ever since. MarineTraffic data confirms no signs of resumed movement, and her remote mid-ocean position has delayed the arrival of salvage assistance. A tug was dispatched from Mexico, according to reports, but with the Maersk Sana positioned in the middle of the ocean, response time has stretched over days."
According to Maersk's statement, a towage vessel is expected to make contact with the Maersk Sana this week. At the time of the engine room explosion, the 8,450-TEU vessel, built in 2004 and flagged in Singapore, was sailing Maersk's Transpacific TP11 service.

"Safety is of paramount importance, and we will take the learnings from our investigation to avoid similar incidents in the future," Maersk said.

No details were provided about the source of the engine room explosion.
