JNL Multi Manager Alternative A

So the fees add up to 3.56% of asset value annually, with a one year return of 1.35%? Pulled this right from what you posted.

What am I missing?

But, VIGAX - 10 year return 19.29% - and an "all in" operating expense of .05%.
Ya can sleep easy this way… C22…

you're not very bright....I'm not looking for performance,,,,I'm looking for capital preservation in this market.....if we get the decline I EXPECT I will be positioned to switch to aggressive funds like small cap/mid cap/tech without having taken a huge beating....I can't help you anymore then that...that fund is a small percent of that strategy,,,I have already been spared from most of this carnage...now the question is where will we bottom

buy what you want...and please do tell us LMFAO!! And good luck...you will need it

p.s. that multi manager fund is not available to YOU!
Oh, stop with the name calling. Your angry because I am bright and noticed the fees! If you want to preserve capital at a cost of 356 basis points, by all means do it. It is your strategy.

At 356 basis point, not sure I would want it!! The holdings/sectors shown are nothing exotic. Easily matched up with let's say, a fee of maybe 20-30 basis points.

Vanguard is the name of a financial company, like “ so many “
other companies… Vanguard is know to have low operating expenses. they ain’t greedy… open an acouunt Glen as 401k or something else… C22…
We need to talk about this

Times like theses I’m so happy I never had a need to get back into the market.

ive got a small teamster pension that’s in a market based fund , I can’t touch it for another 4 years so it’s at the risk it’s at.

I don’t envy any of you right now

Vanguard: my wife was communicating wit a customer service representative the other day, Vanguard can appoint a low cost advisor… C22…
.
I do it myself. Picked up John Bogle's Little Book of Investing awhile back. Low cost, diversified funds always win in the long-term. I prefer ETFs to Mutual Funds, but that just me. I use VTI, VXUS, & BND. I used to tilt pretty hard towards Growth (VUG) but backed off of it prior to this selloff. Just lucky I guess.

ain’t that something, the General is asking me bout savings $$$ and not you… C22…
like asking an Eskimo TO FIX an air conditioner :-)

CANY....VANGUARD is basically a mutual fund broker with low expense fees. If you got some extra dough and want to save for your old (well older age :-) then buy a s+p INDEX fund and make regular contributions. This way you buy when it's low and high...that's called dollar cost averaging. An Index fund tracks the performance of an entire INDEX such as the s+p/DOW/NASDAQ less risk and historically better than actively managed funds where some schmuck is buying and selling in the fund and causing fees.
