We had just the opposite today, had to make a rare trip to Bayside & went to a restaurant for lunch on Bell blvd no mask, no entry, three of us everyone had temp taken, refuse no entry & one in the party had to provide name, address & phone..........John

Can’t say I’ve ever had my temperature taken or any one been asked for their name , ever

Just because someone says it or even mandates it , doesn’t mean it’s actually always happening .
I’ve always been fast to admit the only way any mitigation strategy works is if everyone goes along with it, I’ve been just as fast to say , That was never going to happen and it never has happened and never will happen. One person does, one doesn’t one establishment is militant about it and 10 pay it looks service when necessary to keep whatever regulatory agency is breaking balls off their back

DW and I entered a retail antique store recently being met by a greeter who offered many different preliminary options for entering, described as “A Check In”.... including hand sanitizers, finger / forehead temp checks , snacks / drinks. We did all for fun and it was fine.

DW had something targeted in this place and we did get it, they were happy to meet us and make the sale, we were happy to get what we wanted and take the time to accommodate their request as well.

it was no problem and felt very secure.

I thought the check in was going to be an information grab , but was not. We were fine with that as well if that’s what it took to get in.

if someone does not want us, we don’t want them ... for any reason.

Some
that want no part of it
Some that want to pretend

And anyone that can’t see the folly in that isn’t too sharp

it was an all or nothing proposition from jump street , and by leaving every mom and pop bodega , car stereo repair shop
Wal mart , Home Depot Ect
Open
It was a giant nothing burger

Regardless, I will not sit by and not comment when someone uses that tactic to try justify what the right thing to do is. It's just what the naysayers need to hear; you're feeding into their misguided opinions.

COVID vaccination is primarily a "selfish" act, since you're getting your "Stay on this Side of the Sod Card, but in doing so, you're also performing a "selfless" act. Every vaccinated person represents one more towards herd immunity. When we reach herd immunity, the pandemic should burn itself out and a return to "normalcy" should follow. Those are the facts, no sense embellishing them.

Instead of it going back to its hay day it simply grabed the worst of what was left at the end and started from there

NE was the only game in town and attracted a lot of talent.....there are many variations of that going on today by former members, so that would be difficult to duplicate. This is fine too...just different.
 
the good old days.: I met cany, old mud, aquaholic. Sinkerbouncrr, Joe B fishing, mentalfloss, gverb, the hot fishing gal barb, St. Paul.. and of course the Professional.
